A Multidisciplinary Community with a Single Focus“SIIM is a conglomerate of different members that range from Physicians, Scientists, Students, Residents, Technologists, Vendors, Consultants, IT Engineers and Developers. As you walk among the crowds, stand for just a minute and look. You are surrounded by some of the most dedicated people that are driving Imaging Informatics and technology forward or actively learning to see how they might apply the knowledge gathered at the conference to their facilities.

The wealth of knowledge, lessons learned, and opportunities are overwhelming if new, and impressive if seasoned. Every member regardless of attendance is at SIIM for a mission. That Mission is the collaboration across all knowledge areas to improve, communicate, and demonstrate advancements for our patients.

The spirit of collaboration is the vehicle of partnership that achieves everything that we do toward better/faster patient care in visualization, design, analytics, machine learning or even the entry of AI with supportive services.

With the patient in focus they are surrounded with a collaboration of multidisciplinary teams all working for them. SIIM 2018 will assist you in seeing the collaborative efforts that exist within the industry, institutions, colleagues, vendors, and development.”

Imaging Collaboration: From Pen and Ink to Artificial Intelligence

CURTIS P. LANGLOTZ, MD, PHD, FSIIM

Medical Informatics Director for RadiologyStanford University

“ Patients are the most under-used resource in healthcare.”– e-Patient Dave

The internet has enabled an exciting new era of participatory medicine, with patients and clinicians sharing information, even images. This combination of sociological and technological change is rebalancing power, knowledge, autonomy and decisions with patients who are empowered, engaged, equipped, enabled – “e-Patients.”

“ I hope to demystify AI and machine learning to provide insights into how they will change diagnostic imaging practice, and debunk the claims of displacing physicians.”– Dr. Curtis Langlotz

The incredible capabilities of new machine learning methods have caused a great deal of fear and uncertainty in the clinical imaging world. Explore how Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning will revolutionize medical imaging practice, and how these new tools enhance early detection, reduce diagnostic errors, and improve patient care.
