"Well Done - Winners" - Team Vijrumbh consisting of Mr Vinay Kumar Vadla and Ms Nitya Malladi –

PGDM Batch 2011-13 from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies – Hyderabad has won

the First prize in Vivarann – the stock pitch competition, which was a part of Advait, the annual

management fest of Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) Kolkata on 02 Dec 2012.

The competition comprised three rounds. The first round was an online quiz which tested the Finance acumen of the teams. 27 teams were shortlisted

after the first round. These teams were asked to make a pitch report on one of the stocks from a selected list of 8 stocks for the second round. Following

which, five teams were shortlisted for the Final round. NMIMS Hyderabad’s team was one of these final five teams.

The Final round was conducted on 2nd December 2012 and it consisted of two rounds. The first round was a simulation round and second round was a

presentation of the pitch report. Team Vijrumbh has topped both the rounds and emerged as the champion. The team has received cash prize of INR

25,000. The final has witnessed participation from one team from MDI and two teams from IIFT.

First Corporate Conclave on "Reach a Million- Social Media as a Marketing Tool"

The First Corporate Conclave was successfully conducted on 20th August 2011. The theme for the conclave was Marketing. We had speakers from the industry speaking on the topic "Reach a Million- Social Media as a Marketing Tool". The event had eminent speakers like: Mr. Sharlin Thayil, CEO,(AP) Bharthi Airtel, Mr.Niladri Ray, Executive Vice President, Broadridge Financials, Mr. Dinesh Choudhury, Manager, finance and retail verticals Google India and Prof. Shantanu Ghosh, Dean, South State Business School was well attended by the students and other guests. The event got covered in print and electronic media as well.

Second Corporate Conclave: "India's Financial Markets-The Road Ahead"

The Second Corporate Conclave was organized on 17th November 2011. The theme for this edition of corporate conclave was Finance. The topic being: "India's Financial Markets-The Road Ahead". We had eminent speakers from the corporate as well as academicians. Speakers were: Dr. A.V. Ved Purishwar, Director, Learning and Development, Mr. J. Ravi Kumar, CFO, L&T Metro Rail, Mr. P .V . Third Corporate Conclave: "Change Management- Key Driver of Organizational Success"

The Third Corporate Conclave was held on 3rd March 2012. This conclave focused on the issue of "Change Management- Key Driver of Organizational Success". The topic being highly relevant to the corporate environment was well received and was a huge success. Magazine:

NMIMS Hyderabad has the unique distinction of launching the first issue of its in house magazine within the first 9 months of its inception. The magazine committee in collaboration with the academic committee has successfully launched two issues of the magazine- iNM. The first volume (e-version) was made available in the month of October 2011. The print version of the same issue was released in the month of January 2012. The second volume of the iNM magazine was delivered as an online version in the month of May 2012. The Third edition of the magazine was released on 15 Aug 2012 (Independence Day).
