Getting aroundThe best way to explore cenral Naples is by foot.There is a system of public transportation including buses, subway, railways and trams. Tickets can be purchased at tobacco or convenience shops and must be validated at the beginning of the journey.There are also taxis stands around the city.It is best to be cautious, as overcharging is frequent.A tourist can also drive around the city, with the personal car, however, the parking is a major issue in Naples and the traffic is chaotic.SUBWAYLines 1 and 2 cross the citys center having as main stations Garibaldi, Museo and Montesanto which serve as major connection points.

2. CLIMATEThe weather in Naples is pleasant the entire year.Naples has a Mediterranean climate with hot and dry summers and mild winters.Over the course of the year, the temperatures vary from 5 to 31 degrees. They rarely go below 1 degree C and above 30 degrees C.Summer temperatures are around 30 degrees CThe summers are hot and humid and only in September there is a slight increase in rainfall.

Temperatures start to decrease in autumn moths, the average high is 22 degrees C; November is the wettest month of the season.Winter temperature: 4-14 degrees CThe average low temperature in winter is 4 degrees C, while January is the coldest moth of the year, with temperatures around 1 degree C.In the spring, the temperature rises gradually, from March with 15 degrees C to May with mid twenties. However, the nights remain cool.

Food and drinkThis Italian city gets the right balance between great food, pleasant surroundings and fair prices.Naples culinary culture was influenced over the centuries by the Arabs, the Spanish and the French, who all rulled the city at some point in history.There are family-owned Trattorias and charming old wine bars.Provided the location on the edge of the Mediterranean Sea, there is always a fresh supply of fish that offer the locals, as well as the tourists quite wonderful dishes.

Pizza MargueritaNaples is famous for being the home of the classic Marguerita pizza and also for the great quality of pizzas. In Naples, despite the general trend of Italy, the crust of the pizzas is softer, not crunchy

After a well deserved delicious meal, one can enjoy a national classic bowl of ice-cream from the famous Gelateria

We find here the custom of ending a meal with a coffee, that in Naples is a true work of art.

4. Sightseeing in naplesThere are many historical places to see in Naples, such as: Naples Cathedral, also known as Duomo di Napoli with a 19th century neo-Gothic exterior and a 14th century French-Gothic exterior.It is a Roman Catholic church, also called as the Cattedrale din San Gennaro, in honour of Saint Januarius, the citys patron saint.The construction began in the late 1250 and was completed in the early 14th century.Underneath the building, the excavation revealed Roman and Greek artifacts.

Palazzo Reale is a royal house museum, with 30 rooms and the largest state library in southern Italy, the Biblioteca Nazionale Vittorio Emmanuele III.It was built in 1600 by Domenico Fontana to host King Phillip III of Spain.It became a Royal residence of the Austrians and the Bourbons.Nside, it holds a massive collection of Neoclassical and Baroque paintings, furnishings, decorative art objects and porcelainPalazzo reale
