What do LTs want to achieve?
•Learn about all aspects HIV/AIDS
•Understand all the various issues and processes/procedures of HIV testing at ICTCs
•Perform laboratory tests in accordance with NACOs HIV testing strategies and testing guidelines
•Understand the interpretation of results
•Ensure standardized and quality testing all across in order to provide accurate, reliable and reproducible test results and meet the requirements of the client

Enhance the theoretical and practical skills of LTs with hands on practical sessions and exercises
What do we want to achieve?
•Performance of Rapid HIV tests
•Performance of ELISA assays
•Exercises on:
-collection, storage and transport of samples
-interpretation of results,
- maintenance of equipment,
-practice of quality assurance,
-making of positive control for day to day QC
-inventory management
-quality control
•Exercise on NACO HIV testing strategies

What do we want to achieve?
•Reduce stigma within the healthcare personnel - address anxieties and misconceptions to increase willingness to care for HIV positive people
•Prevent occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens by training the healthcare providers in Biosafety, standard work precautions and PEP
•Assure and inform about PEP and its timely use in case of accidental exposure to minimize transmission of HIV

Module 4: Biosafety in the laboratory and standard work precautions
Module 5: Process and flow of the Client at ICTC/PPTCT for HIV counseling and testing
Module 6: Collection, transport and storage of blood sample
Module 7: Elements/components of Total Quality Management/Quality System Essentials
