Principals Report (connued from Page 1)

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Joanne Lakeland, Courtney Yates, Felicity Black and Michelle

McIlvena who will not be returning to us in 2018. They have all made a difference to every student that has been

lucky enough to have been in their grades or as extra support.

Joanne Lakeland has accepted a posion at Alexandra Primary School and we wish her all the very best in the

future. Courtney Yates, Felicity Black and Michelle McIlvena are moving on and we wish them all the best as they

enter the next chapter in their lives. Good luck and thank you to all of you, you will be greatly missed by the

students and staff.

Bushfire Season is approaching

As we start to approach the bush fire season again, it is very important that all contact details are up to date in

case we need to contact you. This also includes any emergency contact numbers you have for your child/children.

Can you please ensure you check your details at the school office and make any changes accordingly. Our inclusion

on the Bush Fire Register means that will be required to close as a precauonary measure on days determined to

be Code Red in the Bureau of Meteorology district in which we are located. If the school is to close noficaon will

be sent home to school community prior to the day. Be safe.

Goat Update

This week a fence was erected and gate put in ready for the goats. The next step is to extend the exisng fence to

ensure it is goat proof and then we are off. Fingers crossed we could have goats by the end of the school year. I’m

looking forward to students selecng their names.

Year 5/6 Coonawarra Camp

The Year 5/6 students have been at Coonawarra Farm Resort all week and the weather has been fantasc for all

the amazing acvies they have parcipated in, I’m sure all students and teachers will sleep very well on the

weekend. Thank you to all the parents and teachers for giving up valuable family me to make the camp such a

success .

Cameron Heath, Principal

We are very pleased to offer a new iniave

for families in 2018.

Families will now be able to pre-pay their school fees/excursions. We all

know the familiar morning roune of trying to find cash for an excursion or

lunch order that is due that day. With the pre-pay system, all you have to

do it sign the permission form, ck the pre-pay opon and return it. The

pre-paid funds can be used for any expense – fees (Essenal Items), camps,

camp deposits, swimming, special lunch orders, division athlec carnivals,

graduaon expenses, concert ckets and all excursions. The only things that it cannot be used for is the weekly

school canteen lunch order & uniform orders.

The amount that is prepaid is enrely up to you. If any funds are le- over at the end of the year, they can either

be returned to you or rolled over into the next year.

The most efficient way to pre-pay your fees is by using your

unique BPay number. This is available at the bo2om of

your statement or you can contact the office to obtain it.

By paying directly via BPay, the funds are immediately

remi2ed to your account where they can be allocated as

the need arises. The school Biller code is 87361.

Please contact Mrs George or Mrs King in the office to discuss how much you would like to pre-pay. This

amount can be topped-up throughout the course of the year and can be set up now in readiness for 2018 or you

can come into the school office and arrange it at the start of the new year.

On the 24th

November the grade threes went on the Warburton bike

trail. We went from Healesville Primary School to Yarra Juncon and

then we rode to Millgrove and had a small break. AIer much riding, we

got to Warburton.

At Warburton, we had a walk on a wobbly bridge and took a picture

under a tree. When we rode back to Millgrove, we had an icy pole each.

Most of the track was gravel, but some of it was concrete. All around us

were bushes and fields. It was so much fun. Thank you to the parents,

helpers, police and teachers for great ride. I give it 10/10.

On 24th

November, the grade three classes rode on the Warburton

bike trail.

We started at Yarra Juncon, went to Millgrove and then on to

Warburton, where we stopped and ate. Then we played for a li<le

and we also went for a walk. Then we got back on our bikes and we

went from Warburton to Millgrove and we stopped for icy poles. We

got back on our bikes and rode back to Yarra Juncon. It was very fun

and I think everybody enjoyed it. Parents and police came and helped

out.

By Lachie H

It was a cloudy morning when the grade 3 students got to

school and grabbed their bikes and went up to the top

asphalt.

We all got loaded up and drove to Yarra Juncon, we all went

in a big convoy.

Once we got to Yarra Juncon we all got unpacked and

started to ride to Millgrove. We got lots of parents/teachers

and police helping us. A lot of people were trying to race. I

kept telling them to slow down, but they didn’t listen to me.

Part of the track was gravel and part of the track was

concrete. Once we got to Warburton we all had a sausage

and played on the playground. Then we had a walk and went

across a wobbly bridge. Then we rode back to Millgrove and

we had an icy-pole. Then we went back to Yarra Juncon and

then back to school to unload. We all had a great me and

aIer that we all went home.
