This event was created to honor and celebrate the outstanding creative and charitable contributions of those in the design and building industries. It was also a fundraising drive for KiDS NEED MoRE, a 501c3 non- profit dedicated to enhancing the lives of children, families and young adults coping with cancer and other life-threatening ill- ness. The event in its third year attracted over 350 guests and was a remarkable evening featuring cocktails, dinner, dancing, awards, raffles and a silent auction. The night brought together many talented people from dif- ferent fields including architecture, building, development, inte- rior design and more. George Oliphant, NBC’s George to the Rescue, served as honorary chairman. Awards were presented to the following distinguished honorees -Lifetime Achievement Award, Marilyn H. Rose of Marilyn H. Rose Interiors Ltd.; Design Partner of the Year, Anthony Geraci, European Granite & Marble and the Volunteers of the Year, Mitch and Kim Kraeling. Major sponsors include European Granite & Marble, Marilyn H. Rose Interiors Ltd., Showcase Kitchens and Stark Carpet. In addition to the festivities, the region’s top designers produced dramatic mystery-themed tablescapes. “We are thrilled with the success of the event and enjoy bringing the industry’s top talent together to celebrate. Partner- ing with KiDS NEED MoRE fits our mission to give back to the Long Island community and we look forward to presenting them with a check to support their important work,” said D+BA presi- dent Marlaina Teich of Marlaina Teich Designs. The Designers + Builders Alliance of Long Island held its annual gala “Mystery By Design 3.0,” in late March at the Crest Hollow Country Club, Woodbury.
