• I want to use my degree to give myself options. • I have always loved technology, art, learning,

and dogs.• Developing a learning environment integrating

all of these interests would be an ideal career.• This course will be a jumping off point to blend

all of these passions to fill a needed void in our communities.

• Using education is the foundation of my theory to end animal cruelty.

My learning environment

• I want to infuse 3D technology and adult education to develop a virtual shelter.

• My goal is to provide a reliable resource for owners and potential owners to learn and chat with professionals about pet care, training, and pet loss.

Using Second Life and Facebook Social Media

• Use Second Life to create a virtual world to demonstrate pet care practices, training, and a pet loss support group.

• Use Facebook to advertise the services the virtual world will provide and interact with your learners.

Here is what is in store

• Register• Take a quick personality “test” that will match you

with your compatible breed, meet your virtual pet choices, which will double as your avatar.

• View brief descriptions about the dogs that were matched to your personality with information such as temperament, size, grooming, longevity, and exercise needs.

• Last stage in virtual world, dogs would present scenarios for the virtual owner. Once they are comfortable, they can be linked up with various shelters in their area depending on their zip code and meet their real potential pets.

• Using social media is interacting learners and reaching a large audience, quickly.

• Teaching owners the essentials and creating virtual experiences may reduce the change of returning an animal back to the shelter.
