Making new friends at Egglescliffe School
There will be about 240 pupils in Year 7 in September. There are
pupils coming from many different primary schools. Some pupils are
the only person from their primary school.
There will be lots of opportunities to make new friends in your form
class, teaching groups and through enrichment activities.
Here are some hints and tips about making new friends
• Smile when you say ‘Hello’
• Start a conversation by asking a question about what they are
doing eg:‘ What are you reading?’
• Introduce yourself ‘ By the way my name is……., what is your
name?’
• Ask some questions about them eg:
‘Who is your form tutor?’
‘What primary school did you go to?’
‘How do you get to school?’
‘Have you got brothers or sisters?’
The more you join in, the more friends you will make
