MY HOME INDUSTRIES PRIVATE LIMITED Under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Rameswar Rao Jupally, My Home Industries Private Limited (MHIPL) has grown from strength to strength to its current annual cement manufacturing capacity of 8.5 million tons. Starting at 0.198 million tons per annum (MTPA) capacity, MHIPL has expanded its capacity to 8.5 million tons per annum (MTPA) making it one of the fastest growing cement companies in Telangana State and Andhra Pradesh during the last decade. Mellacheruvu Cement Works (MCW), Sree Jayajyothi Cements Private Limited (SJCPL) and Vizag Grinding Unit (VGU) have an installed capacity of 3.3 MTPA, 3.2 MPTA and 2.0 MTPA respectively. MCW implemented Quality Management System in 2006 & Environment Management System in 2010 and certified as per ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 respectively. The OHSAS 18001 also implemented in 2016, thus integrated all three management systems. As a part of Swatch Bharat Campaign, MHIPL has taken various initiatives at plant level as well as community level, which are described as below. A. Waste Management in the offices Swatch Bharat Campaign launched on 14.10.2014 at MHIPL and schedule has formed to rolling over the same with the involvement of all employees. Management has categorised Plant area into 14 zones. HOD level employees were assigned as team leaders for each zone to implement schedule during every Monday at 16.30 to 17.30 Hrs. In addition to this, programme was extended to residential township by involving all family members and children on every alternate Thursday at 17.30 to 18.30 Hrs. Thus, generated awareness and developing culture among employees and their families. B. Segregation of waste collection Three types of separate color coded dust bins were provided in selected areas to collect Iron scrap, Cotton waste & wood scrap separately. In township each individual house provided with Red & Green colored bins to segregate Non-Biodegradable & Biodegradable waste at source itself. C. Solid waste management (including e-waste) Generated e-Waste like Desktops, laptops, printer cartridges, phones & monitors are collected and disposed to authorize collection centers. Failed/broken contactors, Relays Fuse links, failed chokes and starters scrap, melted connection strips, wiring and PVC materials are stored separately and disposed through resale to outside authorized parties. Used automobile & power bank batteries are disposed to vendor by buyback basis. Bottom ash from power plants are stacked properly and used in filling of low lying areas. Used refractory bricks are stacked properly and disposed through sale to parties. Generated iron scrap is disposed in re-sale practice. Generated waste paper, cardboard, tea cups are disposed in dump yard. Damaged HDPE/Paper bags scrap is collected and disposed to outside parties. D. Hazardous waste management Hazardous waste like waste/used oil, used grease & high chrome grinding media are generated in regular maintenance practices is being collected separately, stored securely and disposed to authorized re-processors/recyclers.

MY HOME INDUSTRIES PRIVATE LIMITED

Under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Rameswar Rao Jupally, My Home Industries Private Limited(MHIPL) has grown from strength to strength to its current annual cement manufacturing capacity of 8.5million tons.

Starting at 0.198 million tons per annum (MTPA) capacity, MHIPL has expanded its capacity to 8.5 milliontons per annum (MTPA) making it one of the fastest growing cement companies in Telangana State andAndhra Pradesh during the last decade. Collecting leakage oil from transformers in to plastic tray or can and filling in to empty barrels andthe same oil re filtration process carrying out during oil filtration of transformers yearly once asper statutory requirement.

E. Recycling and reuse of waste

Hazardous waste generated from pharma / chemical industries is being utilized for co-processingin kilns as alternative fuel. During 2014-15 8678 tonnes & during 2015-16 consumed 12605 tonneswas utilized for co-processing which was of TSR 2.5% and now during 2016-17 TSR of 3.0% istargeted.

Generated fly ash from CPPs is being reused in PPC grade cement manufacturing

Used Batteries are return to authorized agency that was recommended by manufacturer on buyback process.

Domestic wastewater is treated in STP and 100% utilized plantation watering & green beltdevelopment.

F. Industry participation in construction of Public/Community toilets

Yearly funds are giving to local gram panchayat of nearby villages for village development such asRoads, water supply, mineral water plants, public/community toilets etc. About Rs. 86 lakhs wasspent towards village development for the year 2015-16.

Contributed Rs.26 lakhs for village development for the year 2016-17 (as on date).

G. Industry’s role to effect behavioral change regarding healthy sanitation practices

Communicated & shared the details about the healthy sanitation practices in Gram Sabhaconducted by local gram panchayat of different villages.

Conducting awareness programmes to the employees on weekly basis

H. Industry’s role in Generating awareness about sanitation and its linkage with public health

Conducting awareness programmes to the employees on weekly basis WASH pledge has been implemented, this has generated awareness.

I. Industry’s role in Eradication of Manual Scavenging & Elimination of open defecation

In the informal meeting with local gram panchayats of nearby villages, explained the steps to betaken by local gram panchayat and stressed the need for eradication of manual scavenging andelimination of open defecation.

J. Planting trees in office complex

Thick greenbelt is developed in and around the office complex. 33% of the total plant area isdeveloped under green cover. Every year mass plantation day is carried out involving by allemployees to strengthen green cover.

Till date 123.89 ha area covered covered under greenbelt with 1, 31,181 Nos trees. During FY 2016-17 about 8500 tree saplings were planted till date.

The following initiatives have been taken up at MCW plant from 14TH October 2014.

Continuous monitoring of swatch Bharat initiatives like

Every Monday regular housekeeping by all employees each one hour in the workpremises.

Every fortnight all the colony residents will participate in and around ofcolony/township.

Segregation of waste in different wastes like paper, other bio-degradable, bio non-degradable.

Supply of dustbins separately for colony residence with color codification for organicand inorganic waste thereby lifting the waste/garbage by auto specifically providedfor the purpose.

We have provided 5 RO plants for purified drinking water for nearby 3 Villages

Donated 5 water tankers to 5 nearby villages by considering the scarcity of sufficientwater for regular use in the villages.

Enter in to agreements with specified vendors for safe disposal of hazardous waste.

We have implemented the WASH program and under the wash program compliedsafe water, sanitation and hygiene at the workplace Construction of sufficient toiletsunder wash program.

Planning for 5S implementation in the plant

Introduced Quality Circles in plant and won the prestigious awards of state level aswell as all India level for 2016 year.

Achieved the CII- Greenco Gold award for implementation and best practices inEnergy Efficiency, GHG ,Renewable Energy, Water Conservation, WasteManagement, Material conservation, Recycling and Recyclability, LCA, Green supplyChain, Product Stewardship and Others.

Creating awareness on housekeeping activities to all company & Contractemployees, colony residents, School Children’s and neighborhood villagers.

Implementing the management decisions on digital payments and complying 100%cash less transactions including payments, wages, salaries etc.

Encouraging all the employees for paperless working.

Prohibition of plastic bags usage in the premises of plant and colony. Provided sufficient vehicle parking in plant & colony.

Plan for 2017-18

Create awareness for nearby villages on Swatch Bharat in coordination with local

bodies.

Plan for improvement of sanitation and health in the villages.

Exploring the possibilities to support the Gram panchayats for constructing of toilets.

Advising and create awareness for contract workmen to construct toilets at their own

houses under Swatch Bharat.

Continuing swatch Bharat program in plant one hour per a week.

Continuing swatch Bharat program in colony by all the colony residents one hour per

a fortnight.

SWATCHH BHARATH ABHIYAN

We have launched national campaign Swatch Bharat Abhiyan on 14-10-2014 at16.30 hrs. at our MCW and rolling over the same with the involvement of all theemployees of MHIPL-MCW as per the schedule on Every Monday at 16.30 hrs.

Circular has been released by the plant head on 16th Oct. 2014 and eachdepartment head has been allocated responsibility one area.

1. The team lead will take forward the assignment at one of areas in the locationmentioned.

2. The participants are the employees & the contract workmen of all discipline /departments in that particular location.

3. The employees & the contract workmen from the departments such as Safety,Environment, IT, Projects departments shall voluntarily join positively in any ofthe lead teams.

4. In case the team lead is not available on scheduled day, the next to take lead theassignment for the day.

5. The Swatch Bharath program in all the 14 locations fixed on every Monday at 16.30hrs. in the location /area the activity under team lead to take place as per the schedule

6. The team lead had to coordinate for getting arranged the tools, implements etc. for theprogram
