Mutinda C. Kyama, Ph.D. Mutinda C. Kyama, is a lead Biomedical Scientist and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, School of Biomedical Sciences, College of Health Sciences, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. He has special research interest in studying the pathogenesis of endometriosis, ovarian cancer, breast cancer, cervical cancerD and stem cell biology and investigate the role of stem cells in the pathophysiology of uterine benign and malignant tumours. Kyama earned his bachelors degree in Biochemistry from the University of Nairobi, Kenya in 1998. He graduated with Masters degree in Medical Sciences in 2004 from Katholieke University of Leuven NKULeuvenO, Belgium. Dr. Kyama in 2005, received the prestigious KULeuven Interfaculty Council for Development Cooperation grant (IRO Doctoral award in Biomedical Sciences) to carried out his doctoral thesis work at the Laboratory of ERperimental Gynaecology NDepartment of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University Hospital Gasthuisberg, KULeuven, BelgiumO and was awarded a doctor of Biomedical Sciences NMechanisms of Human DiseaseO on September 2009, under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Thomas M. DVHooghe. The title of his doctoral thesis was: Endometriosis: New insight in pathogenesis and search for potential biomarkers. He was a visiting postdoctoral fellow at the Laboratory of ERperimental Gynaecology NUniversity Hospital Gasthuisberg, KULeuven, BelgiumO in 2011 under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Thomas M. DVHooghe as a recipient of Interfacultaire Raad voor Ontwikkelingssamenwerking (IRO) specialization award offered by KULeuven Interfaculty Council for Development Cooperation. Mutinda C. Kyama, is a lead Biomedical Scientist and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Medical Laboratory

Sciences, School of Biomedical Sciences, College of Health Sciences, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and

Technology. He has special research interest in studying the pathogenesis of endometriosis, ovarian cancer, breast

Gynecology and Obstetrics. He is adhoc reviewer of several international Zournals including Human Reproduction,

Gynecological Surgery, American Journal of Reproductive Immunology, Molecular Human Reproduction and

Gynecologic ` Obstetric Investigation. He currently has active grants in endometriosis, breast cancer, cervical

cancer and endometrial stem cells.
