Could you invite one of them? 

Here’s what to do.

Throughout August, Shirle will be co-ordinating donations for the annual ANGLICARE WINTER

BLANKET APPEAL. If you can give to people who do not have sufcient blankets or a sleeping

bag to keep warm at night, please place our donation in an envelope marked “blankets” and

place it in the offertor. There have been some donations of handmade blankets which will be

blessed this Sunda and then given to Anglicare ASAP.

A CONVERSATION WITH CARAD - THURSDAy 15 SEPTEMBER 7.30PM

CARAD is the Coalition for Aslum Seekers, Refugees and Detainees. Based in

East Perth, the coalition provides assistance to people in detention centres and

people settling in Australia. Our Worshipping Communit has a long histor of 

partnership with CARAD. As the new Northam Detention Centre nears completion,the churches of Northam are mobilising to offer Christian compassion and hospitalit

to the men who will be detained there. On Thursda 15 September at 7.30pm, we will welcome

the CARAD Volunteer Co-ordinator, Eira Clapton, to talk about how the Hills communit can share

in this mission. Who of the 18,000 people across the ten suburbs of our parish will ou invite to

partner with us in mission?

Kalbarri, Diocese of North West Australia.

In the Anglican Church we pra for: Primate of Australia, Archbishop Phillip Aspinall; Diocese of 

North Queensland, Bishop Bill Ra, Bishop Saibo Mabo, clerg and people.

In the Anglican Communion we pra for: Archbishop Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbur;

Santiago (Philippines), Bishop Alexander Wandag.

entitled ‘Pastoral Care Guidelines’. There are also a few printed versions in the Meeting Room.

This document provides draft guidelines for the provision of pastoral care within our Worshipping

A GRAND WORKING BEE WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAy 10 SEPTEMBER AT 1PM. We need

lots of people as there is lots to do, such as sweeping, raking leaves, cleaning gutters, whipper 

snipping, rubbish removal, cleaning out the shed and moving it, cutting down a few small dead

trees, mulching, general cleaning and tiding and much more! If possible bring tools such as

rakes, whipper snipper, shovels, chain saw, plant trimmers, trailers etc. A delicious afternoon tea

will be provided. If we have lots of people, it will be a small job. Kind regards David

FORMATION

HOSPITALITy WORKSHOP #3 - SUNDAy 25 SEPTEMBER 12.30PM - 2.30PM

For those who weren’t able to make the previous hospitalit workshops, the next workshop will

take place on Sunda 25 September starting at 12.30pm. The workshops are for people who have

an hospitalit role in the Sunda liturg - sidesperson, reader, intercessor, liturgical assistant and

so on. It’s an opportunit to refresh and renew our hospitalit practices, particularl in the lead-up

to Back to Church Sunda.

IGNATIAN SPIRITUALITy: Claim the Dates: Thursdas: 29 September and 6,13,20, 27 October 

at 5.00pm for 5.15pm. Facilitated b The Reverend Tess Milne, these sessions will explore the

spiritual practices associated with St Ignatius of Antioch. Ignatian spiritualit is a spiritualit for 

everda life. It insists that God is present in our world and active in our lives. It is a pathwa to

deeper praer, good decisions guided b keen discernment, and an active life of service to others.
