Target Audience & Needs The target audience for this band would be teenagers and young adults of both genders that enjoy rock/grunge music, this video is

really controversial because of the different themes in the video. The audience may like this video because of the bands short performances in the video and the different controversial parts in the video.

Lyrics (Meaning Implied?)

The lyrics for this song such as “ throw down you’re umbilical noose to I can climb right back” could be referring to the lead singers mother when she was giving birth to him, and how he wishes he wasn’t born and how he doesn’t want to live because in the video dead foetuses are seen hanging from trees and a little girl tries to grab one of them.

Tempo The tempo of this song is fast , aggressive and angry sounding which gives the audience an idea of what the lead singer is implying when he was writing or singing the song.

Genre The genre of this song is rock /grunge which is because of the aggressive sound of the music and the controversial lyrics, the video is a narrative video , the video tells the story of questioning the different things in life nobody really questions such as religion, close to the start of the video a man is seen on a crucified on a cross like Jesus wearing a Christmas hat which could be seen as some sort of religious element.

Then a close up of the 3 members of the band looking at the man in the bed from across the room.The scene then changes to the man who was in the hospital bed then on a cross and a close up of his face comes into shot .

A long shot of the band is then used when they are

performing underneath the cross. The lead singer then has a close up on his face but has

this blurry effect because of his movement when performing.

people that are featured in the video, and the scenes change from the hospital to the man on the cross , then back to the band performing, a green screen has also been used to get the different backgrounds that changed continuously .

Use of Digital Effects The digital effects used in this music video are things such as colour corrections, which have been changed to very bright and vivid colours such as bright reds, orange, blues, and some purples making them stand out in the background behind the band performing, the beginning of the video starts off with dark cold colours to give off a cold effect because that’s the feeling most people get when in hospitals because of the amount of people that die in there, so the use of colours such as greys and black in

that scene give an earie effect.
