• Design of a museum is a challenging thought to be made especially for a folk museum. Main aim is to preserve the exhibits in its original creation. To create a completely rural environment the site has been raised reached by a flight of steps from the unbuilt space(parking). Each blocks are being separated to create a free space rather than compact design. Reception, galleries are beign connected by a bridge with a water body under it. The water body gives a cool ventilation to the space which is necessary since there are no large windows only skylights and lateral lights. Direct lighting is prevented since it can cause glare on the exhibits. Some exhibits require artificial lighting to know the details of it.

Roof forms: thatched roof, clay tiles, curved roof with a contemporary and vernacular style.Materials : clay tiles, perforated walls, bamboo, cladding stones, bricks, stonesLanscape: the trees within the open space like the café creates shade and also large trees providing shade for the roofs creates a cool environment within.

When architecture is applied to a space most of the time we try bring in the contemporary style. Here I have tried to build in space with a rural context along with the stages of roof forms.Project : Museum of folk artsStyle: VernacularSite: RamnagaraArea :Context: rural Ambience : static, inorganic
