OUR STUDIO DYNAMICmaking magic out of a little creativityIn a little home slash converted studio
located in the heart of the Bay Area, there
is evidence of both the comforts of home
and the rigorous output of a production
studio. Creativity and ideas fly by freely
with neither regret nor regard. In one
corner, the post-production team is
touching up on photos. In another, an
artist paints her models.
However, there is a stark difference
between the storyboard that exists in some
sketchbooks and the ones at Muse Theory:
our ideas become reality. And this reality
uses the Bay Area -- its people, places,

Muse Theory Design began humbly in
this studio in late 1999 as the brainchild
of Johnny Neang (and later to include a
diverse team of creatives). Muse Theory
has done everything -- and yes, we really
mean everything short of milking cows --
from overseeing production to branding
and marketing.

If Johnny Neang, self-taught fashion photographer,
napkin-doodling enthusiast, and (most importantly)
the man behind Muse Theory, knows anything, it’s
that things change. Neang wants to be a part of
that change, whether it is in urban education or in
the developing art scene in Northern California.
With years of commercial digital design, Neang
has been transitioning his skillsets into still
photography. Whatever the medium--whehter
photography, digital design, or otherwise--one
thing is for sure: he doesn’t want to follow change;
he makes change happen. His collaboration shoots
and branding work for clients all are all distinct,
but share one quality: the client is always happy
and the product is always progressive.
With his direction, the company has progressed
quickly over the past two years, with a wide range
of clients under their belt. Now, the real question
is ... will you be Muse Theory’s next client and take
your company branding to the next level?
USEFUL INFOJohnny Neang runs Muse Theory most of the time, but he also runs marathon, travels around the world, wears velcro shoes, and doodles on napkins some of the time. When asked if being around pretty people all the time affected his self-esteem, he laughed and said: “My soul is as beautiful as their high cheek bones.”
By the way, he’s kidding.
