STAGE 4 STUDENT LAPTOP PROGRAM

Stage 4 students will have access to new Chromebooks (a type of laptop) for their school studies.

Students and their families will need to sign an agreement with the school before a Chromebook will

be assigned. A payment of $50 is required annually to lease each laptop. This payment will be used

by the school for ongoing maintenance of the device.

After 4 years of consecutive lease payments, the student will acquire ownership of the laptop.

Mungindi Central School will release all responsibility of the laptop. It will then become the

responsibility of the student to organise and pay for any repairs needed.

POWER OUTAGES

There will be minor to possibly significant power outages on Tuesday 2 July as there are 40+ safety

switches within the school that have been recalled and therefore need to be replaced.

Classes will continue as usual. It is recommended to parents to ensure their child/ren have adequate

clothing for the day as there may be no heating.

SECONDARY REGIONAL NETBALL TRIALS

Last Tuesday our senior girls participated in the Northern NSW and Northern Coastal region Netball

championships in Inverell. This was the first

time our students have participated in such

an event and the girls exceeded their own

expectations by narrowly missing out on

making it to the State Championships.

Mungindi Central School competed against

Manilla, Woodenbong, Bowraville and

Ashford Central Schools and exhibited great sportsmanship and skills on the day, with a number of

schools enquiring where we are from and encouraging us to compete in more competitions in the

future.

NBSA COMBINED ATHLETICS CARNIVAL

Last Friday we hosted the NBSA Combined Athletics Carnival. After a freezing

start to the morning things soon heated up with our future athletics burning up

track and field events with students from Goodooga Central School,

Collarenebri Central School and Boggabilla Central School competing for the

2019 NBSA Cup.

Students displayed sportsmanship, speed, agility and strength in track and field events such as long

jump, high jump, discus and shot put and running. There was a plethora of talent on display during

the day.

A very big thankyou to our wonderful P&C canteen volunteers for

providing lunch and drinks to fuel our budding athletes, all event

organisers of both track and field events and supporters.

Thank you to our local council workers Jeff, Ben, Peter and team for assisting in marking the track and

our setup on the day and lastly a special thank you to Ms Riddell and Miss Aliesha Prince for their

endless work towards the success of our NBSA Combined Athletics Carnival.

And finally the winners of the day are MUNGINDI CENTRAL SCHOOL! Congratulations

students for all your hard work. It has paid off and thank you to our NBSA family and

friends for supporting our champions!

BUDDY READING

Year 3 and 4 students have been enjoying visiting the Preschool reading picture books to them.

Preschool students have been very engaged listening to the primary students reading to them. It has

been great practice for our students to become comfortable reading to an audience.
