Educational goals. Be able to shot and read Multi- spectral images. Be able to use them in Research and every day Conservation work. This course will explore and practice multispectral imaging methods that are used by cultural heritage scientists and conservators for scientific and forensic Documenta- tion and Examination of art objects. We will see how specific ranges of the electromagnetic spec- trum are used to detect features such as under- drawing (infrared), retouches (infrared false color) and varnishes (ultraviolet). Timeline. 5-days - Monday-Friday. 4 hours/day: 2h Theory and 2h Laboratory. Ideal Customer. European institutions: museums, universities, conservation institutes who do want to set up an imaging lab but do not have expertise in their personnel. They have a limited budget for the equipment and want train their own non-scientist personnel in performing multispectral imaging doc- umentation. Audience. Max 15. Curators, Conservators, Art historians, Art photographers. Training can be ex- tended to Academia and Students. Laboratory Equipment. Students will use the same equipment I use for my professional work. Should the Institution want to set up it’s own imag- ing laboratory I’ll provide complete list of compa- nies and materials. Language. English. Cost: 2000 euro (travelling cost and average standard lodging is provided/paid by the customer). Program: 1 st day: Imaging with Visible: Color Management workflow and accuracy, Raking light, Macro- photography, Imaging with UV: UV Fluorescence, UV Reflected, UV False Color. 2 nd day: Imaging with IR: Infrared, Infrared False color, Infrared Fluorescence, Infrared Transmitted. 3 rd day: Imaging with IRR. Infrared Reflectog- raphy, InGaAs camera. 4 th day: High-Resolution Imaging.
