Overview

Milano Teleport - Company Profile

1.1 History

Milano Teleport was founded in 1997 by private investors and it was the first Italian satellite

company established in the wake of the telecommunications deregulation of the 1990s.

Until 2004 the company had offered broadcasting services. In 2005 Milano Teleport started

offering broadband services in developing countries such as Africa, Middle East and to

maritime clients.

The boom of Internet as an information and entertainment source meant that by 2011 the

distribution of services was split 50% broadcasting and 50% broadband.

Currently services distribution is 60% broadband and 40% broadcast.

Within the broadband service area, 40% of clients are terrestrial and 60% are maritime and

the maritime business is still increasing. Some of Milano Teleports sea bound clients include tankers, cargo shipping companies, tugs, barges, rigs, cruise ships, mega yachts. Turnover

for terrestrial customers is mainly generated in Africa, South America and Middle East.

1.3 Improving maritime

iSeaglobal turnover C.A.G.R. of 30% since 2009.

iSeaglobal trademark was created in 2006, to identify VSAT services for maritime business run

by MT.

After 7 years in the industry, MT is now recognized as a global maritime VSAT player, and

competes with the biggest operators in the market.

The maritime team has developed proprietary solutions which allow a powerful control of the

antennas installed on board and in-depth analysis of data transmission performance.

4.1 Key Information Management

In-house Developed Software tool

Through a user friendly interface, the user can monitor in real time the following information: Track real time data, Modem status, Traffic quantitative analysis, Network and service status, Bandwidth

usage verification, Signal strength and quality.


4.2 SatJumper TM


Runs on-board the vessel (dedicated laptop)

Automatically selects the strongest available satellite, always guaranteeing the best possible connection, with an auto learning algorithm (smart system)


4.3 Maritime Monitor


Drastically reducing the troubleshooting effort

Through a user friendly interface, the user can monitor in real time the system, providing: SNR, IP throughput, Antenna status, Vessel heading, Modem status, GPS, etc.

Through username and password, the dealer, IT manager or final customer can access to key info respectively of their vessel or their fleet
