msrl vs frp
Citation preview
please go through the bellow listed comparison for understanding the advantages of dual laminate PP + FRP tanks over MSRL tanks. Life 2 to 3 years. Life 15 to 20 years
Ageing of rubber lining happens resulting in to cracking, rigidity of rubber, brittleness which gives failure.
Polypropylene have no ageing effect.
During leakage of lining iron get dissolved and liquid get contamination, M.S. tank get corroded.
Polypropylene tank does not have iron tank. no iron contamination, no corrosion.
Ms rubber lined tank is heavy in weight.Polypropylene tank are lighter in weight and they are mobile.
MSRL tank is externally prone to corrosion as it is exposed to acidic atmosphere of acidic fumes coming out of tank
PP + FRP tank has no such problems as the resin used in FRP is compatible with acid. No metallic parts in tank.
Rubber has porosity. Polypropylene is solid and non porous material.
Rubber is soft material. Polypropylene is hard and rigid material.
Easily get damaged. Very difficult to get damaged.
Virginity of rubber is questionable.Polypropylene can be easily identified and tested for virginity.
Surface preparation and clean Surface is crucial for adhesion.
PP fabric backed sheet is used for highest degree of adhesion
Joint blistering is common problem. There is not overlap joint. no blister.
Require full support of mild steel. No MS stiffeners required
Disbanding and airpocket is a regular problem. There is no bonding, no air pocket in Polypropylene welding.
Sand blasting can not be compromised. Sand blasting not required.
De-bonding is commonly observed due to different coefficient of thermal expansion of rubber & MS
No problems of de-bonding
It require regular maintenance It is maintenance free.
