Are you ready to begin? Alright, your first activity is to show Pat where Antarctica is on the globe. Click on the picture to the right and point to Antarctica. Then show Pat where the South Pole is.

In order to help Pat, you need to be wearing the appropriate clothes. What type of clothes would you need to wear while visiting Antarctica? Click on the word clothes and see if you guessed right? What are some items that may be missing?

Pat wants to find his penguin friends at the South Pole and needs your help! Complete each activity starting with the number 1 to get Pat closer to the South Pole.

Antarctica is a continent that is covered with thick sheets of ice and snow. It has the coldest, driest, and windiest weather in the world. On the land you will find massive glaciers that slowly move toward the ocean. Sometimes these glaciers break off and form icebergs that float in the water beside the land. Click on the picture below to see more icebergs.

Now that we made it past the floating icebergs Pat’s journey continues…

We have arrived at the edge of Antarctica. Pat sees a seal and its pup but does not see any of his penguin friends.

So far we have made it past icebergs and have reached land. As we are making our long journey towards the South Pole we see unusual prints in the

snow. What kind of animal leaves tracks like this? After you guess click on the picture below to find out.

We are definitely heading in the right direction to the South Pole!

After several cold and long days of traveling we finally reached the South Pole!

There is just one last task that has to be done before Pat reunites with his friends. He has to go over new vocabulary words that we learned on this journey through Antarctica. Review the list of words and if you can’t remember what they are click on them to see a picture.
