Twelve -day’s Workshop on ‘Campus Recruitment Training’

G.H. Raisoni Career Foundation organized a 12 -day’s workshop on ‘Campus Recruitment Training’

for the final year students of BCA and BSC (IT). During the workshop they were taught Quantitative

aptitude, Logical reasoning, Data sufficiency problems and English for campus recruitment. Two

online aptitude tests were also conducted during this period.

The workshop was very beneficial as the session was interactive and also included a lot of

practice sessions. 116 students participated in the workshop. Participants were awarded with

certificates at the end of the session.

SRWC organized the Induction Ceremony of freshers and felicitation of meritorious students on 20th

July 2015. Namannoor Jabbal gave a brief introduction of the college. Mary Mathews introduced the

chief guest and the Principal Ms.Amina Vali welcomed the Chief Guest Shri Vijay Phansikar, Editor,

The Hitavada, Nagpur. Phansikar sir in his speech enthralled the students by narrating true life

incidences of women who had fought against all odds and made a place for themselves in this world.

He also advised the students not just to study but to learn – Learning by Head and not by Heart is the

pathway to success. SNDT University first rank holder for B.Sc(IT) Ms. Alka Rao, 2nd

On the occasion of World Literacy Day a career guidance seminar was conducted for the final

year students of Sadabai Raisoni Women’s College. Mr.Sarang Kadsait, Senior Manager Cyber

Security Cell ICICI Prudential guided the students on the opportunities in the field of Cyber Security.

He discussed the attacks and misuse of information in the cyber world. He said that there are

Android Apps available on play store, from which data taken can be altered and then forwarded to

the next person. The talk ended with a question & answer session.

Youth Day Celebration - Paper Bag Making Activity

Cheap disposable plastic bags are very common in the retail trade as a convenience for shoppers, and

are often supplied by the shop for free or for a small fee. There are environmental concerns regarding

use and disposal of plastic bags. Efforts are being made to control and reduce their use.

Keeping the above in mind, “Paper Bag Making Activity” was conducted by NSS club of Sadabai

Raisoni Women’s College, on 12th

August, to mark Youth Day Celebration, in which the students

made paper bag out of newspapers.

The students made different types of paper bags and decorated those using waste materials.

Newspaper bags will be distributed to vendors in different areas.

Janmashtami Celebration

The festival of Dahi Handi was celebrated in Governmet Girls Hostel, Katol Road with utmost

pomp and gaiety. The whole environment was filled with joy and cheer. The members of Rotaract

club of Sadabi Raisoni Women’s College, created an aura of festivity by singing songs. The

participants enjoyed themselves by playing games and dancing on music. Finally, after making

several attempts to reach handi, the girls made a pyramid and broke it.

Nutrition Week Celebration.

“ Proper nutrition and regular exercise is essential to maintain a healthy life” were words of

Dr. Vinita Agrawal, Consulting gynaecologist during her lecture at Sadabai Raisoni Women’s

College, on occasion of Nutrition Week celebration organized on 2nd

September.

Later, Dr. Renuka Mainde consulting Nutritionist, elaborated on importance of breakfast and guided

students with convenient and nutritious breakfast recipes. She also enlightened the students about the

ill effects of eating Junk and Fast Foods and encouraged students to consume traditional foods for

healthy body and healthy mind.

The session ended with a question and answers round, where Dr. Agrawal and Dr. Mainde

took queries from the audience, and provided them with appropriate solutions.

September 5th, birthday of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, was celebrated with great

enthusiasm at Sadabai Raisoni Women’s College. The teachers were surprised with a party arranged

by students. The programme included dance, skit and song performed by the students. Teachers were

felicitated by certificates for various titles.

Students always look forward to Teacher's Day with a lot of anticipation, for the sheer spirit of

the occasion. Teachers, on this day, are reminded of their school days and feel nostalgic. All in all, it

On the eve of World Literacy Day a skit showcasing ‘Importance of Education’ was

performed by rotaractors of Sadabai Raisoni Women’s College, in collaboration with Rotary Club of

The skit was performed at ‘Ganpati Mandalas’ at Bezanbagh. Through the skit the students

created awareness regarding importance of vocational education and depicted that there is no age for

learning thus promoting the adult education schemes of government.

Eid and Ganesh Chaturthi festival were celebrated with much devotion and enthusiasm by

Rotaract Club of Sadabai Raisoni Women’s College at the Karnbadheer School at Pandey Layout.

A drawing competition was organized for the inhabitants, who portrayed their creativity and

artistic flair with vibrant colors. Meeting the request of the school authorities, cartoon CD’s were

gifted to school. The winners of drawing competition were given awards and the celebration

concluded with snacks being served to the children.

Sadabai Raisoni Women’s College in association with the Rotary Club of Nagpur organized

Kurukshetra an Intercollegiate Debate Competition on the topic “Prohibition is the Best Solution” at

Vivekananda Hall, Shraddha House on 26th

September 2016.

Teams from nine colleges namely, G.H.R Law School, Hislop College, G.S. College of

Commerce and Economics, Tulsiram Gaikwad Patil College of Architecture, G.H. Raisoni College of

Commerce, Science & Tecnology, Dr. Ambedkar College, S.B. Jain Institute of Technology,

Management and Research, Tuli College of Hotel Management and Sadabai Raisoni Women’s

College participated in the event.

The judges for the debate were Ms. Anula Goenka and Mr. Mohammad Master Rot. Shabbir

Shakir was the moderator. The winning team was Adit Ved from GHRLS and Songa Bhattacharya

from S.B. Jain. The first runner ups were Shubhalakshmi LN and Gagandeep Kaur from GS College

A Guest lecture on ‘Financial Management’ by Rtn. Parag Paranjpe was organised for the

members of Rotract Club & NSS Unit of SRWC on 1st October 2016. He spoke on the importance of

preparing a budget and spending wisely in our daily lives. On being asked whether on should save or

invest, he said that savings are good for short term planning whereas investments were for long term.

Visit to Shanti Bhavan

The members of Rotaract Club and NSS Unit of Sadabai Raisoni Women's College visited ‘Shanti

Bhavan’ a home for the aged. During the visit they interacted with the inmates of the home, organized

games for them and even applied mehendi on their request. Snacks were served which the inmates of

the home really enjoyed. It was a fun filled, but emotional evening for the students and the members

of the home. The teacher in charge, SRWC, Dr. Shakti Sharma encouraged the students by her

There are hundreds of languages around the world, but a smile speaks with. The Rotaract club of

SadabaiRaisoni Women’s College celebrated World smile day with the children of ‘Government

Saraswati Girl’s Hostel, Katol Road Nagpur. An evening with ‘Garba Dance competition, snacks and

charming smiles created the perfect aura of smile day celebration. Over 100 girls danced on the latest

dance beats and the winners were awarded.

MEDICAL CHECKUP CAMP

HR Department RGI and Sadabai Raisoni Women’s College organized a medical check up

camp for all the employees of RGI, Shradha House. The camp was inaugurated by Shri. Sunil

Raisoni, Chairman Raisoni Group of Institures. A Team of Doctors from Mure Memorial Hospital

conducted general health checkup, physiotherapy, random blood sugar test, ENT, Eye and Dental

checkup. Diet counseling was also provided. Multi Vitamins and Iron Tablets were distributed free of

cost. 130 RGI employees benefitted from this camp.

Dr. Shakti Sharma along with the staff and students of SRWC and Mr. Ashwin Pande along

with the HR team of RGI worked hard for the success of the camp.

Diwali Celebration at Old Age Home

Rotaractors and members of NSS club of Sadabai Raisoni Women’s College, gathered to

bring the sparkle of joy for the inmates of “Old Age Home-Mure Memorial Hospital” on 27th

October

2016.

The students spent quality time with the abandoned elders, providing them with the much

needed feeling of togetherness and bonding of a family which makes Diwali special to all.

The elderly participated enthusiastically in various one minute games and sang songs. Diwali

gifts were distributed to the elders followed by lunch. At the end of the day the volunteers left with

heart overflowing with love and delight.

Helmet Awareness Drive

The proportion of accidents involving two-wheelers is very high when compared to the total

number of accidents. In order to promote the use of helmets, the students of Sadabai Raisoni

Women’s College, Nagpur initiated a campaign on 8th

December 2016.

Students with safety related banners interacted with the students and staff members in the

college premises emphasizing on the importance of wearing helmets. The riders not wearing helmets

were requested to wear the helmet. Letters were sent to the parents of students about safety measures

not being followed by their wards.

Guest Lecture on ‘TIME MANAGEMENT’

A guest lecture on Time Management was conducted for students of Sadabai Raisoni

Women’s College, Nagpur, on 09th

January 2017. The resource person for the session was Rtn. Sonal

Singhvi, who emphasized on time management as a route to success.

Mrs. Singhvi in her lecture informed the students that time is the only thing which is freely

available, but is still priceless. With live examples from the problems faced by students due to mis-

management of time she depicted the importance of time. She gave students the priceless Mantra that

“Success is not fame and money. It is to be able to manage time to do what you want to do in their

life”. Being relaxed, not getting stressed out and fulfilling our sleep helps one to be attentive and

active, resulting in better performance.

The students were taught how to manage their time by time by balancing the time against the

activity schedule. The talk ended with a question answer session.

light on various aspects of improving the communication skills among students. She gave the key

Republic Day Celebration

In order to spread the feeling of patriotism and love towards the country, Republic Day

celebrations were held in Sadabai Raisoni Nagpur. The aim was to inculcate a feeling of pride and

make every child responsible towards their duties. As per the traditions, the celebrations began

with Saraswati Vandana by student which was then followed with the hoisting of National Flag by

Honorable Chairman of the Raisoni Group of Institutions. The hoisting of flag spread a wave of

silence which was supported with the humming of National Anthem in the backdrop. The event

became special when students started to showcase their skills with play performances, patriotic songs

and a dance of patriotic song.

Walkathon 2016

On account of World Heart Day, the Arneja Hospital,Nagpur in association with Rotary Club of

Nagpur had organized a Walkathon on Sunday, 2016. Around 10000 people from all walks of life

participated in the walk which was for 3 kms, 6 kms, 9kms.

The NSS Unit and Rotaract unit of our college were invited to assist the event as volunteers.

The event began around 6am and went up to 10am. Our college was awarded the first prize for

maximum participation.

It was indeed a much satisfying day for all the volunteers in conducting an awareness programme on

the occasion of ‘World Heart Day’.

College Trip to Uttrakhand

Srwc organised a trip to Uttarakhand in the month of feb from 8th

feb to 15 the feb 2017. A

total of 104 students including 5 staff members went for the trip.The route was a customized one viz

Delhi-mussorie-Rishikesh-corbett.The students enjoyed their most favourite activity i.e Shopping at

sarojni market in Delhi.Travelling to mussoori ,enjoying the top hill view,winding roads,steep turns

to the top of the hill via ropeway.Yet another thrilling experience in Rishikesh when all the students

participated in river rafting,some for the first time ever in their life while some had already

experienced.Well known Corbett National Park for its wildlife and sanctuaries was the last spot

,wherein students left from the resort by 6:00 am,5oC temperature,cold waves and students filled with

excitement and enthusiasm,19 jeeps with 104 students and faculties enjoyed the 2Hr safari

thoroughly.Dj nights and bornfire were planned and carried out by the tour operators as and when

told by the co-ordinator.Students enjoyed the 8 day trip very much.

As per the directives of Maharashtra State Women Commission, Mumbai and SNDT

Women’s University, Mumbai, a One Day Workshop was organized on “Sexual Harassment of

Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal ) Act 2013” for the students of Sadabai

Raisoni Women’s College, Nagpur on the 16th

of Feb 2017. Shri. Sunil Raisoni, Chairman RGI

inaugurated the workshop. The resource persons were from G.H. Raisoni Law School, Nagpur.

Prof. Aarti Kalnawat, Senior Faculty GHRLS, threw light on Pre-Vishakha era along with

relative case laws, Asst Prof. Mrs. Anita Sable discussed the Vishakha case and narrated the

guidelines given by apex court in the said case. Asst. Prof Dr. Swati Joshi highlighted the statutory

provisions and redressal mechanism provided under the said Act.

It is rightly said, “See & Know” is better than “Read & Learn”. The students of B.Sc(IT) final year

visited the Mahindra and Mahindra Plant at Nagpur on 25th

February 2017. The main objective for

the visit was to make students aware about various activities related to marketing, human resources

and production carried out in company. Mr. Sanjay Agrawal, life skills and productivity skills trainer,

briefed the students about the various aspects of production unit. This was followed by a question and

answer session.

Students have got real feel of company’s working after this visit. They got a chance to transfer their

theoretical knowledge to practical implication. The student had a great learning experience.

facts about Jammu and Kashmir present in the young minds. It dealt with the various aspects of

Kashmir, like geographical, cultural, legal and social.

Women’s College, Nagpur the session was attended by 220 students of Sadabai Raisoni Women’s

College, Centre Point School, Katol Road Branch, St. Ursula Girls High School, Qidwai High School

and Hislop College.

The event started with Rtn. Sonal Singhvi, welcoming the guests. Rtn. Alok Goyenka, President

Rotary Club of Nagpur, Rtn. Mrs. Amina Vali, Principal SRWC, Rtn. Namita Sharma, Rtn. Rahul

at the event.

Women’s Day Celebration - Prerna 2017

The Staff and students of Sadabai Raisoni Women’s College celebrated International

Women’s Day organizing “Prerna 2017” The event was inaugurated by Advocate Mrs.Shilpa

Giratkar. She spoke on the changes made in the laws related to women over the years. She also

stressed on the fact that we as women should be aware of these laws. Dr. Kamal Singh, VC GHRIU

encouraged the girls to be bold but also follow certain safety rules.

A variety of stalls set up by mother daughter team to encourage the talent of the students like hand

made envelopes, jewellery made by paper quilling, paintings, crocheted handkerchiefs etc. The food

stalls offered mouth watering dishes.

The efforts of the staff and students were appreciated by all who visited the stalls.

Seminar on ‘The joy of being a Women Entrepreneur’

In collaboration with TiE Nagpur & GHRCE

SRWC in collaboration with TiE, Nagpur and GHRCE organized a seminar on ‘The joy of

being a women Entrepreneur’. The eminent guest Ms.Kristine Quince ,Faculty at University of

Denver and Entrepreneur emphasized on taking calculated risks in start-ups. Ms.Gurinder

J.Singh,CEO and founder at Leant.ex,New York shared her struggles in her journey of successful

Entrepreneurship. Ms.Zankhana Kaur ,Founding Director of YBiz, Mumbai spoke on overcoming

difficulties faced by Woman Entrepreneurs in Indian Scenario. Dr.Rita Agrawal ,Chair-TiE-WE,

Nagpur encouraged the students to explore new ideas. About 800 students benefitted from this

interactive seminar. Dr.Preeti Bajaj,Director,GHRCE and Ms.Amina Vali,Principal, SRWC were

prominently present.

FAREWELL 2K17

SRWC organized a farewell party on 11th

march 2017.The party was organized at a

Farmhouse on Kamptee road. It started at 2:00 pm and went on till 6:00pm.The students enjoyed

throughout the programme. Performances, games, special thanksgiving speeches by final years which

was followed by lunch and titles, Namannor jabbal & Rashmi bhandharkar won the title of MISS

FAREWELL from BCA & BSC-IT Respectively. The Party was filled with faces expressing mixed

feelings, some capturing moments, some recollecting their journey of three years while some excited

for their future plans. The party ended by a short DJ dance and memento distribution. Teachers,

students & maushis also enjoyed this short funfilled event.

Blood Donation Camp

NSS Club and Rotaract Club of Sadabai Raisoni Women’s College in association with Rotary

Club of Nagpur, organized ‘ Mahadaan’ a blood donation camp at the college premises on 18th

March 2017. 51 units of blood were collected. The organization that helped for this cause was

Dr. Hedgewar Blood Bank.

The students and staff of SRWC participated enthusiastically by donating blood. Rtn.

Navneet Jain, Rtn. Rahul Choudhary, Rtn. Manish Agrawal, Rtn. Mohammed Master and Rtn. Jatin

Sampat and Rtr. Ekansh Tiwari were present in the event.

‘Teacher In You’ Workshop

A half day workshop for teachers of Rabbani College, Kamptee, Umang Gitai College, Nagpur and

Hajjiani Khatijabai Girls High School, Kamptee was conducted under CSR activity organized by G.

H. Raisoni Career Foundation. The resource person for the session were Mrs. Prachi Sasankar, Dr.

Shakti Sharma and Ms. Rozina Naz, faculty Sadabai Raisoni Women’s College. The workshop is

based on the objectives defined by Late Mr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam to be followed by teachers of the

21st century.
