    PRECAST CONCRETE PILES: PART 4: PRECAST PRETENSIONED SPUN CONCRETE PILES

    (SPUN PILES) - CLASS A, CLASS B AND CLASS C The attached amendment on MS 1314-4: 2004 has been approved by Technical Committee on Concrete and concrete products. Date: 16 November 2012 Amd. 1 (1) Table 1 Classification of spun piles, page 2 1.1) Existing Note will be numbered as Note 1. 1.2) Add Note 2 below the table and should read as follow: Other pile driving methods may be used subject to agreement between purchaser and supplier. 1.3) Add Note 3 below the table and should read as follow: Concrete strengths higher than 60 N/mm2 may be used subject to agreement between purchaser and supplier. (2) Table 2. Standard sizes and lengths of spun piles, page 3

    2.1 Add new class of piles of Class C for diameter 250 mm, 300 mm and 350 mm in Table 2. The new addition requirements are as follows:

  • (3) Clause 6 (b), page 4 Replace the existing permissible tolerances in pile cross sectional dimensions of wall thickness of hollow section with the following: Cross sectional dimensions Tolerances wall thickness of hollow section -3, +15 mm for all types of piles. (4) Table 3. Cracking bending moment (Mc) and factor 'f ' for prestress levels of 4.0, 5.0 and 7.0 N/mm for spun piles, page 9. Add new class of piles of Class C for diameter 250 mm, 300 mm and 350 mm in Table 3. The new addition requirements are as follows:
