I have been informed by the Director, Educational Leadership for the Blue Mountains Network that the Principal who Moira McNair is relieving for will be returning to Lawson Public School next year and so Moira will be returning to her position at Mount Victoria. This means that I will be returning to my position at Lapstone Public School in 2019. It has been an honour and an absolute joy to lead this wonderful school for most of this year and I have been touched and am very appreciative of the support and good will parents, students and staff have shown me throughout the year. The students and teachers have been amazingly adaptable to the changes I have made to the school expectations and our approach to student wellbeing and they have all done exceptional work in our new targeted teaching programs in Literacy and Numeracy. Our school is in a strong position to continue to grow our enrolments and continue to build a dynamic and inclusive learning environment that caters for the needs of all students. I understand that a change in leadership is something that can cause concern for parents. However, with the support of the positive students, teachers and parents, along with the high quality teaching and wellbeing programs we have established, things will continue to grow and prosper at Mount Vic. For now we are all focused on our sesquicentenary (150 Years!) celebrations and a fantastic and involved term of learning. If anyone would like to be involved with the planning or the organisation of the 150 th School Presentation and Celebration Fete please come and see me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (Hello… come in, sit down friend)

We are all loving the additional programs we have running this term.

The Dance lessons on Mondays have got everybody grooving and we will

share some of these dances with you at our Celebration of Learning in week 6,

Friday 23 November. Our Tennis program has started and the students are

enjoying learning some new skills with all of the new Tennis equipment we have

purchased. The cricket clinic is coming up soon and Stage 3 camp to Canberra is

fast approaching.

A reminder to please check the LOST PROPERTY area for lost clothing and

items. It is overflowing and some of the items without names will have to be

donated to charity if they are not claimed in the next two weeks. Thank you to

everyone who has volunteered their time to plan an activity for Outdoor

Classroom Day. If you have not planned an activity please still feel free to

come and help us out on the day. Everyone is welcome and help is always

appreciated!

I have been informed by the Director, Educational Leadership for the Blue

Mountains Network that the Principal who Moira McNair is relieving for will be

returning to Lawson Public School next year and so Moira will be returning to her

position at Mount Victoria. This means that I will be returning to my position at

Lapstone Public School in 2019.

It has been an honour and an absolute joy to lead this wonderful school for most

of this year and I have been touched and am very appreciative of the support and

good will parents, students and staff have shown me throughout the year. The

students and teachers have been amazingly adaptable to the changes I have

made to the school expectations and our approach to student wellbeing and they

have all done exceptional work in our new targeted teaching programs in Literacy

and Numeracy.

Our school is in a strong position to continue to grow our enrolments and continue

to build a dynamic and inclusive learning environment that caters for the needs of

all students. I understand that a change in leadership is something that can cause

concern for parents. However, with the support of the positive students, teachers

and parents, along with the high quality teaching and wellbeing programs we have

established, things will continue to grow and prosper at Mount Vic.

In geography, Lizards have been exploring

different kinds of maps that we use.

We’ve looked at

physical maps,

population maps, climate maps and topographic

maps.

We also had a go at sketching a vegetation

map of Australia to show different environments.

Dear Parent/Guardian, We will be holding the School Fun-Run as a major fundraising event this year on 30 November 2018. We’re do-ing it to raise money for Playground Equipment - To enhance our children's environment and education. About the Program The School Fun-Run promotes healthy and active lifestyles while helping us raise funds! It’s all about participa-tion, with students treated to a great day as a reward for their fundraising efforts. Family support is key to our fundraising success and we encourage everyone to get involved. How Does My Child Fundraise? Firstly, go to schoolfundraising.com.au and create a student profile page. Everything to do with your fundrais-ing revolves around this page. Once you have completed this, read through your Sponsorship Form, which has instructions on how to raise money and order prizes. Students who raise just $10 will receive a reward for their effort. The more they raise, the better their reward – don’t forget to check these out in the sponsorship form! We have educated students on the dangers of door knocking without adult supervision, and we encourage you to reiterate this at home. The best people to ask for sponsorship are people you know (e.g. friends, family, work colleagues and neighbours). Online Fundraising The easiest way to help your child raise money is through online fundraising, where students raise an average of $120. On top of raising more money, it’s also safer and easier than doorknocking and you don’t have to wor-ry about handling money! To start fundraising online, go to your student profile page at schoolfundrais-ing.com.au and share your online fundraising link. Getting Involved Not only can you support the school and students with your sponsorship – but you can join in on the fun! We would love to welcome parents and family members to attend the School Fun-Run. If you would also like to volunteer to help on the day, please contact me on the details below. I can’t wait to see you at our event! Ordering Prizes – ALL PRIZES MUST BE ORDERED ONLINE Prizes MUST be ordered between the 16th November and 23rd November. Simply visit schoolfundrais-ing.com.au to create / log into your Profile Page between these dates. Then click on the ‘CLAIM YOUR PRIZE’
