MPC offers nationally recognised qualifications in music from Certificate II through to Certificate IV. In Certificate II and III, students will gain a foundational understanding of music theory and be exposed to song writing, music performance and music production, gaining valuable experience in each field. In the Certificate IV course students will begin to specialise in their field and write, record and release their own EP.

Our music courses offer a pathway for students to develop their understanding of music theory, arranging and piano skills, as well as performance technique, skill and experience. You will be stretched as an artist, which will open up new career possibilities for music composition and professional performance. You will also gain experience in music composition and recording, learning valuable music production skills and experience using the latest in music production technology, creating new career possibilities for music recording studio work.

Students in the music courses will compose, arrange, record, and produce their own original compositions and audition for the annual MPC industry showcase event.

Upon completing these courses you will be well prepared for industry placements and internships or continue to advanced music studies.

MPC offers nationally recognised qualifications in media at Certificate II and III level as well as CUA41215 Certificate IV in Screen and Media and CUA40715 Certificate IV in Design. The Film and Design major offers a pathway for students to gain foundational skills and experience in the film making and graphic design industries with a focus on filming, photography, video editing and graphic design.

The Film and Design courses at MPC will develop your understanding of photography, cinematography and design principles. You will develop skill, efficiency and creativity using industry leading film editing and graphic design software. You will also expand your creative palette as you research popular trends in design and craft your own stories to be told through the medium of film. The media courses are extremely practical and help you gain invaluable industry experience as you assist and manage various creative projects such as filming news programs, TV ads and short films; creating print advertisements and branding campaigns; and hosting arts exhibitions.

As you complete the Film and Design courses you will have a deeper understanding of the film making and graphic design industries, gaining valuable skills and experience. You will be well equipped for advanced training in the Film and Design industries and to begin working on projects as you establish a creative career.

CUA20215 - Certificate II in Creative Industries – Film & Design 2 semesters | 1 day or 6 hours per week

CUA31015 - Certificate III in Screen and Media – Film & Design 2 semesters | 1 day or 6 hours per week

CUA40715 - Certificate IV in Design 2 semesters | 2 days or 12 hours per week

CUA41215 - Certificate IV in Screen and Media 2 semesters | 2 days or 12 hours per week

MPC offers the CUA41215 Certificate IV in Screen and Media through a partnership agreement with Acts2CoME (RTO National Provider No. 51452). Students completing

the course will receive qualification documents issued by Acts2CoME College.

MPC offers a nationally recognised qualification in game design and animation (Interactive) with our CUA20215 Certificate II in Creative Industries - Interactive commencing in 2018.

The interactive course will help you unleash the creative potential of software packages used in these industries. You will learn basic animation skills; how to bring characters to life; how assets and materials for computer games are developed; plus develop core graphic design skills used in the industry.

This course is focused on creating a range of animation and game design material at an introductory level. You will learn by planning and discussing animation through concept art and storyboards; how to model and animate your designs, and create design assets and sound effects for a computer game.

Upon successful completion of the course you will have gained a strong foundation of skills and experience in the interactive industry with a focus on animation and game design. You will also be equipped to take your learning to the next level in our CUA31015 Certificate III in Screen and Media – Interactive (commencing in 2019).

MPC offers nationally recognised qualifications in sound production from Certificate II through to Certificate IV. Students in our Sound Production courses will develop their technical understanding, skill and experience in both live and studio production environments.

Sound production students will learn the theory, setup and operation of audio, lighting and visual systems. You will also cover elements of event direction and production management. This knowledge and skill will be put into practice as you assist, run, and direct the production of live events and studio recording projects.

You will be introduced to some industry-leading consoles and digital audio workstations, becoming proficient in the use of this equipment as you move through higher level sound production courses.

You will also help to host showcase events in which your technical team will be responsible for the audio, visual and lighting production.

As you complete the sound production courses you will gain considerable understanding and experience in audio, lighting and visual systems. You will also be equipped to enter the technical production industry and be well prepared for advanced study.

Our staff members are drawn from many fields of specialisation. We have film makers, graphic designers, musicians, music directors, live and studio audio engineers, biblical studies teachers and pastors. Every staff member is passionate about teaching; they are focused on the learning needs of our students, they are highly motivated, and they are eager to share their experience and knowledge. All of our trainers are exceptionally well qualified and have extensive practical experience in the particular industry area in which they teach.

Our purpose-built training facility is located in Booragoon, 15 minutes south of Perth CBD. We have a large variety of hands-on learning environments including:

• Performance and rehearsal spaces for music students

• Red Wall Recording Studio for music and technical production students

• Film studio and editing suites for our media students

• A modern commercial kitchen to facilitate college life and events.

All rooms are fitted out with high-end, industry specific equipment for student use as they learn their craft and express their creativity together.
