FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents,
The Nature Play, Stage 2 is a school and P&C funded project. The first stages
of water and sand play, tree bench and planting of mature trees are finished.
The children just love it! The contractors will be back in a few weeks to the
continue the work. A Nature Play plan is located in the Undercover Area.
Reporting to Parents
Teachers use a range of strategies to gather data on student achievement.
They determine a grade aligned to the achievement standard for each learning
area.
Semester 1, student reports for Kindergarten to Year 6 will be emailed to par-
ents on Monday, 1 July. When the reports are electronically sent, email recipi-
ents will receive an email containing a link that you will need to click on to
open the report. It is recommended that you download the report immediately,
save the document and/or print the document. Email report links remain valid
for 4 weeks. The school will not be providing hard copies of reports.
School will close at 12.00noon on Wednesday, 3rd July for Parent/Teacher
Interviews. A Parent /Teacher Interview Time Preference note has been sent
home to parents by class teachers. Parents are asked to complete time prefer-
ences and return the form to class teachers. Teachers will organise times by
family groups and inform parents of interview times by Monday 24 June.

Room 9 & 10 Cultural Excursion
On Tuesday, 11 June, Rooms 9 & 10 participated in a fun and educational day out in Perth City. The
students participated in two ‘Fun with Fairy tales' workshops at the State Library. They got to create
and photograph a retell of popular fairy tales and engage in a fractured fairy-tale exercise, where they
learned some of the tricks to put a fun twist on a classic tale.
Both classes also took the Fresh Food Tour at Woolworths, where they had the opportunity to learn all
about healthy food options and experience just how cold the cool rooms are!

Class Teachers, Room 10
On Tuesday Room Nine went to Woolworths and the Library.
First of all we went to the library and did activities inside. Next we went for a walk to Woolworths.
We got food. Next of all we did some running. Last of all we went to play.
The best part was when we went for a walk in the sun. I had fun on Tuesday the 11th of June but I nev-
er got sad.

We would like to thank our families who have paid their voluntary contributions and encourage everyone to do
so. This money is allocated to all of our learning areas and provides extra consumables, resources etc. for the
students. School events such as incursions and excursions incur a compulsory charge. When parents sign the
consent form, permission is given for the student to attend the event. It would be appreciated if outstanding fees
and charges could be paid as soon as possible. If you are experiencing financial difficulties, a payment plan can
be provided. For further details, please contact Sue Andersson, Manager Corporate Services on 9208 3900 or
call into the Front Office.
