It all started with a groundbreaking idea. Today, Hobby is

renowned as a pioneer of modern caravans and motorhomes.

For 50 years, we have sought to make mobile travel easier,

more comfortable and more relaxing.

Each new generation of Hobby motorhomes is notable for

its superb standard equipment, spacious design, quality and

functionality.

Our secret to success is rooted in four main elements:

ground-breaking inventions, innovative technology, modern

design and lots of passion. No wonder that Hobby

motorhomes are as popular as they are.

1967The trained shipbuilding engineer Harald Striewski founds his company at the age of 30. Harald Striewski builds the first caravans 2 years before the Hobby caravan factory in Fockbek is even founded. He sells

two of them immediately and uses the third to go travelling with his family.

1968The young company grows and moves to a new location. Four members of staff are now employed at the new company premises covering 10,855 square metres on Schafredder in Fockbek.

1970Hobby had already achieved its original aim of building one caravan per day in 1969. One year later, 42 employees produce six caravans each day.

2009 The half a million mark is reached: in Fockbek, the 500,000th Hobby caravan rolls off the production line – an Excellent 495 UL.

2006Hobby has a new address: Harald-Striewski-Straße. Fockbek honours the successful entrepreneur for his services to the community.

2007German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the Minister President of Schles-wig-Holstein Peter Harry Carstensen pay a visit to Hobby in Fockbek.

1972With an expanding model range, the numbers are also rising: 5,000 caravans have now rolled off the production line in Fockbek, made by 132 employees.

1983Hobby is the caravan market leader in Germany and also becomes the num-ber one throughout Europe one year later. A caravan rolls off the produc-tion line every nine minutes in Fockbek.

1984The Hobby 600 is the brand’s first motorhome and also marks the start of an unparalleled success story: the semi-integrated wins the title of “Motorhome of the Year” fifteen times!

1989The interior of the Hobby 600 is rem-iniscent of the interior design of luxury yachts and contributes to the distinct-ive character of the sleek semi-inte-grated vehicle. Customers can choose between various layout options.

1998Hobby acquires the caravan and motorhome division of Xaver Fendt GmbH & Co. in Asbach-Bäumen-heim (Bavaria). It is operated as a wholly-owned Hobby subsidiary under the name Fendt Caravan GmbH.

2011The Hobby 600 prototype presented by Harald Striewski impresses fans and the trade press and one year later serves as the model for the new and luxurious Premium range.

2014The Vantana van celebrates its launch and wins the European Innovation Award three years later with its unique SlimLine refrigerator.

2016Launch of the “Hobby Complete” ALL-INCLUSIVE package for the Optima and Siesta: Hobby supplies fully equipped motorhomes that come ready to hit the road – without any supplementary packs or hidden costs.

2017Motorhoming summit:On her second visit to the Hobby caravan factory, German Chancellor Angela Merkel congratulated Hobby boss Harald Striewski on the company’s 50th anniversary.

2017Hobby celebrates its 50th anniversary with the ultimate street party and a spectacular laser show. The event with 40,000 guests is a gift from company founder Harald Striewski to all Hobby employees and their families.

Plenty of space in garages and stowage compartments

The well insulated heated rear garage also has a door on the driver’s side, allowing easy loading from both sides. Luggage can be secured with lashing rails and

eyelets. The garage also has a 12 V/230 V power socket for operating electrical appliances. On virtually

all Optima models, the gas bottles can be easily exchanged by means of a pull-out shelf.

Home-from-home sleeping comfortThe bedrooms – whether with single or double beds –

offer snug all-round comfort. Well-ventilated beds with slatted frames and cold

foam mattresses make for healthy sleep. For added convenience, the lighting system and heating can also

be operated directly from the bed. The digital Truma CP PLUS control unit for regulating the hot air heating

system is also installed in the sleeping area.

Modern kitchen planning with ample storage space

The three-burner hob gives you home-from-home cooking convenience. The Super Slim Tower refriger-

ator offers bags of chilling space. The extremely slimline refrigerator specially developed for Hobby

boasts a capacity of 150 litres. Large, fully extendable drawers with soft-close mechanisms are provided for

groceries and cookware.

The Hobby motorhomes are a model of robust design and perfect insulation thanks to the GRP roof

and GRP underfloor with XPS heat insulation. 70 x 50-centimetre rooflights provide effective ventilation,

Your very own bathroom – everything you need for personal careAll bathrooms have an integrated or separate shower cubicle with a stylish designer shower column. Both attractive and practical, it boasts handy shelves and fine-jet shower fittings. The large mirror cabinets offer plenty of storage space. The extendable washing line in the bath-rooms of the Optima model range is a particu-larly clever solution. The Thetford swivel toilet comes with a quiet flush.

Cockpit with all mod consUpholstered in the same fabric as the living area, the driver and passenger seats are equipped with armrests and are swivel and height-adjust-able. The front and side windows come with pleated blackout blinds. The large hinged roof vent on the semi-integrated vehicles lets in plenty of daylight and fresh air.

Perfect living area design, down to the last detail The LED ambient lighting typical of Hobby lends your motorhome a cosy, welcoming atmosphere. All windows are fitted with pleated blackout blinds and insect screens. The side wall units above the beds provide plenty of storage space for clothes and linen.

All the main functions of the motorhome are controlled by innovative on-board technologyThe Hobby CI-BUS on-board management system with TFT control panel is used to control and monitor all electronic devices connected to the on-board supply. The IBS intelligent battery sensor supplies all the key data relating to the starter and body battery. This technology protects the battery and reduces charging times by approx. 30 per cent by comparison with conventional chargers. Your Hobby motorhome is also fully winter-proof. The fresh water tank and pipes are installed in a frost-free location and the waste water tank is heated and insulated. The powerful Truma Combi 6e hot air heating system warms up your vehicle in no time and supplies hot water via the integrated 10-litre boiler. The modern multimedia sys-tem of the motorhomes includes a navigation system with reversing camera, pitch database and CD/DVD player with two extra loudspeakers in the living area. Also included are a adjustable TV Bracket for TFT TV complete with 12 V/230 V power socket.

Insulated rooflights from DOMETIC SEITZAll motorhome models are fitted with up to two DOMETIC-SEITZ rooflights as standard. The large Midi-Heki or the smaller Mini-Heki ensure excellent insulation, optimal ventilation and a cosy atmosphere.

HOBBYTherm® thermo-function floorThe 65mm thick sandwich construction of the HOBBYTherm® floor is based on a form of high-strength XPS heat insulation. The material is particularly damp-resistant and rot-proof. The internal hot air pipes also serve as indirect underfloor heating. (SIESTA DE LUXE)

High-quality vent windowsThe double-glazed, tinted vent windows with safety locks are specially moulded. Together with the thicker material, this makes them much more resistant to stresses and deformation (especially heat and cold). Another positive effect is the improved sound insulation, while a new sealing system provides long-lasting protection against the ingress of moisture.

Insulated garages with large opening angleThe large garages are heated and insulated throughout. The fully insulated garage doors are secured with sturdy two-point toggle locking and have a large opening angle for easier storage of bicycles and other bulky items. An additional garage door on the driver’s side allows easy loading from both sides. Hobby CI-BUS on-board management system with TFT control panelThe Hobby-designed CI-BUS on-board management system controls all devices and functions within the on-board network. The control button plus six additional softkeys under the display allow convenient and intuitive navigation between menus. Whether TRUMA, DOMETIC or other makes: thanks to the non sector-specific interface, the new symbols and graphics of the Hobby TFT control panel represent a cross-section of all manufacturer symbols. That way the user is presented with an already familiar symbolic environment and can read off data from the display, e.g. date/time, inside/outside temperature, water tank filling level and battery charge/discharge, or activate settings directly. Other CI-BUS-capable on-board components such as heating and air conditioning can also be centrally controlled. The system is standardised and updateable, thus ensuring compatibility with next-generation devices. To date, up to 15 devices can already communicate with the control panel. (See manufacturer’s instructions) For peace of mind, all vehicles supplied through our approved dealer network will now come with our flag in the display, this confirms that the vehicle meets all our standards for fire retardancy, safety etc.

Fuse box under passenger seatChanging a fuse is easy thanks to the readily accessible distribution box under the passenger seat. The red key as a battery master switch and can be used to interrupt the 12V circuit at any time to prevent the battery from discharging completely during longer idle periods, e.g. in winter.

Insulated, heated waste water tankThe waste water tank on all Hobby motorhomes is installed under the floor and housed in a shatter-proof and heated insulation box. The slide valve for the used water is located in the heated part of the waste water tank so that frost doesn’t get a look-in.

State-of-the-art battery managementThe IBS intelligent battery sensor supplies all the key data such as charging time, charging current and charging voltage, as well as the remaining running time and discharge current of the starter and body battery (gel or AGM) in autonomous mode. All values can be read off from the TFT control panel. The battery sensor supplies the intelligent charger with the exact charging current and voltage it needs, thereby ensuring energy-efficient charging up to 100 percent capacity. With this system, charging times are reduced by approx. 30% by comparison with conventional chargers.

HobbyConnect – Network of the futureDeveloped exclusively for Hobby leisure vehicles, the HobbyConnect M2M system allows you to control the entire on-board technology via mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets. For this you will need the “MyHobby” app, which can be used to check or directly activate settings such as time, temperatures, filling levels and battery charge. Other BUS-capable on-board components such as heating and air conditioning can also be centrally controlled, with HobbyConnect providing an interface between the motorhome’s CI-BUS on-board management system and the Internet.

Practical outside showerThe outside shower not only cools you down on hot days, but is also handy for rinsing bits of equipment.

External gas socketExternal connector for gas-driven devices.

That means you can connect directly with virtually any location in the world from your own vehicle. Data communication takes place in both directions via a special web server. That way you can receive push notifications on the mobile device, e.g. if the vehicle is removed from its location in case of theft.

Truma-Combi EThe efficient Truma hot air heater Combi 6 E can be run off the 230V mains as well as on gas – a particular advantage in winter. (Standard in UK Spec)

Pull-out bracket for flat screen TV including 12 V/230 V connectionsThe TV arm can be swivelled through 180 degrees, allowing a good view of the screen from all positions. (Television not supplied)

Satellite systemThe fully automatic satellite system CAP 650 from Kathrein includes a rotating flat antenna with a large range. Measuring just 21 centimetres high, it has excellent aerodynamic qualities. The antenna comes with a twin LNB, which means that two receivers can be integrated in the system and automatically align with the right satellite for the selected channel.

ALDE hot-water heaterThe ALDE hot water heater 3020 HE with a total power output of 8,500 watts and an integrated 8.4-litre boiler is available for many models. Heating and water heating can be used both simultaneously and independently of one another.

Webasto parking heaterIntegrated in the cooling circuit of the base vehicle, the Thermo Top C diesel heater from Webasto warms up the engine compartment and cockpit before you even start up thanks to a digital timer that lets you preselect the start time for the heating-up phase.

Dual USB charger socketSmartphones or tablets can be easily charged via the USB sockets in the sleeping and seating areas.
