Morgana Davies: Biography.

Morgana made her screen debut at only 7 years of age opposite Charlotte Gainsbourg in the Australian/French feature film 'The Tree'. Directed by Julie Bertuccelli, the film premiered on the closing night of the Cannes Film Festival in 2010 and earned Morgana rave reviews for her portrayal of Simone, a young girl who believes the spirit of her dead father can be found in the fig tree on the family property. Her performance was honoured with the Film Critics Circle Award for Best Female Actor in a Supporting Role in 2011 and AFI nominations in both the categories of Best Lead Actress and Best Young Actor in 2010. Morgana followed 'The Tree' with 'The Hunter', an adaptation of the award-winning novel by Julia Leigh. The film was directed by Daniel Nettheim and

stars Willem Dafoe and Sam Neill. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and saw Morgana nominated once again for an AFI (AACTA), this time for Best Supporting Actress. 2011 also saw Morgana cast in the lead guest role of Leah in Steven Spielberg's 'Terra Nova' and as Cassandra in Matthew Moore's short film 'Julian', which took out the Crystal Bear for Best Short Film at the Berlin Film Festival in the Generation KPlus category. 'Julian' continues to win praise and numerous awards at festivals around the world. Most recently Morgana has filmed the main cast role of Bridie in 'Return To The Devil's Playground' for Foxtel under the direction of Rachel Ward, as well as lead roles in Damian McLindon's short film 'Growing Up' and Mike Horvath's 'Breath'.
