Probably the best all round ram trade seen at Ardingly in the last 10 years. All the flock masters were well rewarded. The trade reflected the excellent quality on offer. N Pamplin’s blue Texel ram lamb raised the roof at £720, closely attended by

Warnock’s Texel shearlings at £600 and Miss D Lindon’s Suffolks also at £600. Other leading highlights were Castle Goring’s Texel at £520; AL Brown’s Charollais

shearlings at £520 and K Tucker’s Charollais shearlings at £520. R Whitcombe’s Border Leicesters were a resounding £500 and PH & PE Skinners’ 2½ years Texel ram at £550. Special thanks to top judges Nick Page (Suffolk) and Peter

Beeching (Texel). We look forward to seeing you in September 2018.

Beer was donated by local breweries and the pub cooked a lamb spit-roast donated by a local farmer, accompanied by a wide selection of home-made relishes contributed by another prominent member. Live music was provided

without cost by well known local band Rapscallion. “Thank you to all of the pubs who hosted us and helped promote the event and of

course to all those who came along with their tractors”. Howard Venters.
