David J.A. Dozois, Ph.D., C.Psych Co-President,
International Congress of Applied Psychology 2018
Welcome to the International Congress of Applied Psychology 2018
On behalf of the International Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP) and the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA), it gives us great pleasure to invite you to support the 29th International Congress of Applied Psychology (ICAP 2018) to be held in Montréal, QC, Canada, June 26 – 30, 2018.
The International Congress of Applied Psychology is a quadrennial event which attracts over 4,000 delegates from around the world. The ICAP 2018 programme will showcase cutting-edge developments in all domains of applied psychology and related disciplines, and we have created a wide range of opportunities for sponsors and exhibitors to engage with researchers, practitioners, educators and students in a memorable and meaningful way.
Applied Psychology uses the methods and findings of scientific psychology to create solutions for the practical problems of individuals, groups and societies. The theme for ICAP 2018 – Psychology: Connecting Science to Solutions – was chosen to highlight this thriving partnership between the science and practice of psychology. ICAP 2018 will also feature the latest developments in basic psychological research that can be applied to “real world”
problems. This Congress will also enhance dialogue between applied and basic psychological science.
The Congress will be located in the Palais des congrès in the heart of Montréal, a charming multicultural city, with excellent art galleries, museums, theatres, restaurants, bistros, gardens, and some of Canada’s greatest places to shop. The Congress will also overlap with the Montréal Jazz Festival, the largest of its kind in the world.
We are pleased to present a variety of opportunities to help your organization showcase its products, services and solutions. We also welcome the input of our industry and academic partners and invite you to work with us to create the right opportunity for your organization to support ICAP 2018.
We invite you to join us at ICAP 2018, as we work together to advance the science and practice of applied psychology.
We look forward to welcoming you to Montréal! Bienvenue à Montréal!

These congresses belong to the main responsibilities of IAAP inasmuch as they are particularly suited instruments to pursue the Association’s mission of bringing applied psychologists in world-wide contact with each other. In addition, the ICAP offers the unique opportunity to demonstrate the societal significance of applied psychology.

GIMME-5s (Add-on to existing exhibitor/sponsor package only)An instant cure for “death by a 1,000 PowerPoints”, the GIMME-5 format is an oral presentation exactly 5 minutes long that uses a maximum of 3 PPT slides... no exceeding, no exceptions! The 5 minute time limit requires the speaker to make his/her points clearly and rid it of non-critical information, which in turn causes the audience to be more attentive and gain a broader array of knowledge from the various presentations. Located in the Exhibit Hall sponsorship of GIMME-5 sessions will include 3 hours of presentation time in either the AM or PM, based on availability. Recognition on the ICAP 2018 website, mobile app, final program, and on-site signage.
$1,950
SPOKEN PRESENTATIONS (Add-on to existing exhibitor/sponsor package only) Most would agree that fifteen minutes and 5 slides is more than enough to be able to give an effective presentation, but structure is the key to success. Start with an attention-grabbing introduction, followed by main points that are reinforced with details to form a compelling argument/overview (consider using the ‘rule of three’ to explain your points), and finish with something that suitably rounds off your presentation. Don’t try to learn your presentation word-for-word, try to tell a story, and focus on the whole audience! Located in a dedicated meeting room sponsorship of Spoken Presentations will include 3 hours of presentation time in either the AM or PM, based on availability. Recognition on the ICAP 2018 website, mobile app, final program, and on-site signage.
