PLANT OPERATIONS

The following is a chronological description of plant operationsfor the month of February, 1980.

At the beginning of this report period the plant was operatingat 605 MNe, 100% power.

On 2/3/80 the unloading ano storing of last shipment of newfuel was completed. 52 new fuel assembl.es are in new fuel storageracks.

On 2/4/EO, EG2A was out or service for maintenance. Retested.

and returned to service on same day.

On 2/4/80 pressurizer pressure dropped to 1992 psig due tospurious opening of PR-SOV-570 and PR-MOV-269. Operator closed valvesand restored pressurizer pressure to normal.

On 2/6/80 fire pressure maintenance pump was returned toservice following pump overhaul.

On 2/6/80 load was reduced to 530 MWe due to broken air line*

on heater drains tank normal level control valve. Line was repairedand plant returned to full power at 0245 hours on 2/7/80.

On 2/16/80 load was reduced to 500 MWe and "A" circulatingwater pump was removed from service due to motor ground. '

On 2/17/80 load was reduced to 400.MWe to perform turbine stopand control valve test. Test completed and load returned to 500 MWe onsame day.

On 2/19/80 load was reduced to 345 MWe to check condenser tubesin "C" and "D" water boxes. Two tubes were plugged in each waterbox.Load was returned to 575 MWe on same day.

On 2/20/80 load was reduced to 125 MWe due to steam generatorchemistry specifications. Load was increased to 180 MWe for better feedwater control. Maintenance removed "C" Cire. pump motor and installed iton "A" cire pump. "B" condenser water box checked for tube leaks.Plugged two tubes in "B" waterbox.

ON litt/80 steam generator chemistry in specs. and load increasewas started.

On 2/22/80 all circulating water pumps were returned to serviceand load increased to 100% power.

On 2/26/80 the main stack monitor failed. Hourly sampling procedureinstituted. I&C changed detector and main stack monitor was returned toservice at 0100 hours on 2/27/80.

On 2/29/80 "B" charging pump out of service to change motor drivenoil pump. Returned to service same day.
