Authentic objects will be supplemented by informative entries as well as by audiovisual material featuring photographs of the monuments whence the objects originated. Also, rare editions by the Cultural Foundation Collections will bring forward documented information on lost and found objects. Photographs depicting maintenance works on ecclesiastical monuments of the Holy Bishopric of Morphou from the past ten years will also be on display. LARNAKA LOVE BUS CITY SIGHTSEEING Open-air Double-decker Bus Starts Routes in Larnaka. An open-air double-decker bus company has commenced tours in Larnaka offering tourists the opportunity to see the bustling city. Tours on the ‘Love Bus’ operate five times a day (from morning till evening), and take in various sites of interest within the city, including the old aqueduct of Kamares, the Hala Soultan Mosque in Tekke, the ancient harbour of Kition and the Medieval Castle. Starting point: Palm-tree lined promenade ‘Phinikoudes’ (along Athens Avenue) and lasts one hour. The special passenger bikes - which look a little like buggy carts with pedals - are already popular in other European destinations where riders (with very strong legs!) cycle with their passengers in the back enjoying the sights. The bikes are an environmentally friendly way to travel as they use a solar-powered battery, meet all European safety standards and are operated by trained riders who know first-aid. PAFOS WALK Every Thursday STROLLING AROUND PAFOS TOWN CENTRE (KTIMA) In an effort to get visitors acquainted with Pafos Town Centre (Ktima), which is the newest part of the city of Pafos as opposed to New Pafos, the ancient Hellenistic and Roman Capital of Cyprus, the Municipality of Pafos would like to invite everyone to visit Pafos Town Centre (Ktima) and get to know this part of Pafos, incorrectly considered as merely a shopping area. The walking tour Strolling around Pafos Town Centre (Ktima) aims to provide an overall picture of Pafos and how Pafos Town Centre evolved and developed from the late Byzantine and Medieval times to what as it was called until recently Κtima. The Pafos Town Centre (Ktima) is associated with the local everyday life of the population. For the Pafians though, Pafos Town Centre (Ktima) has so much more to it…. Through historic references, linked with some very important historic phases including Medieval, Ottoman, British and modern times; one will ‘walk’ into the past but will also get better acquainted with the commercial centre of Pafos.
