Factors that create trust with a team are: Consistency…People will trust you if, time after time they see you responding in a consistent and reasonable manner. Delegation…When you delegate the power to make decisions, you’re essentially saying, “I trust you”. People trust leaders who trust them. Open Communication. Is the cornerstone of great teamwork.

As many of you know from being there, this year’s 20th anniversary of our MACC Golf Outing at StoneWater was a definite success. Our thanks go out to the Golf Committee for all of your hard work! If you see John or Natalie Kupinski, Steve Mosher, Michael LaMarca, Joe Corradetti, Marybeth Mack, Patti Bednar, Mary Jo Vleck, Shelly Norehad, Joan Spring or any of the Holiday Inn Staff (and now that I tried to list everyone from memory, I’m sorry if I forgot someone!), please give them an extra round of thanks. Special thanks also go out to Micheal LaMarca and Master Pizza, who donated breakfast and lunch, as well as all of our hole sponsors, prize sponsors and once again our Major Sponsor, Hillcrest Hospital! Thanks also to our host, StoneWater. What a beautiful course and what perfect shape it was in. The weather could not have been better either. It was just a perfect day. The golf committee will be reporting all of their finances and eventual profit at the September Board of Directors meeting and I look forward to sharing that with you next month. As you know this is the biggest fundraiser that we put on to fund our annual scholarships at Mayfield High School. Our previous 12 outings have allowed us to give away over $116,000 and none of that came from the General Fund! I think we all should be really proud of that! So again, thank you to all of you who participated in any way at this year’s outing. Now it’s time to think about next year!

The Goddard School Grand Opening - August 20, 2013

Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting for The Goddard School
Tuesday, August 20th marked the grand opening of the new Goddard School located at 675 Miner Road in Highland Heights, with an official ribbon cutting ceremony. Several members of the Mayfield Area Chamber of Commerce were in attendance and Michael LaMarca, whose daughter attends the school, gave the opening remarks. Owners of other Goddard Schools around the Cleveland area were also at the event as well as several officers and VP’s of Goddard corporate office. The school in Highland Heights is the 400th Goddard School to open in the country. Joe Schumacher, CEO of Goddard Systems spoke about the difference a high quality early childhood education program can make in a young child’s life. Goddard’s philosophy of learning for fun, learning for life was clearly demonstrated in each of the classrooms in the beautiful, brand new facility. The school will be holding a grand opening open house Saturday, August 24th from 11:00am to 1:00pm for current and prospective families. The Mayfield Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor“A Night with the Mayoral and Council Candidates”
Candidates running for Mayfield Heights Mayor and Council will make a presentation and answer questions on Tuesday, September 24th. The program will begin at 7:00p.m.
The Candidates Night will be hosted by Executive Caterers at Landerhaven, 6111 Landerhaven Drive.
The Moderator for the evening will be John Swartz, President of Mayfield Area Chamber of Commerce.
