NoteworthySwiss insurer Baloise is expanding its personal items insurance from personal to business

use – specifically targeting manufacturers, dealers, equipment rental companies and leasing companies that can now obtain coverage for their possessions against loss, damage, destruction and theft. Eligible items include: laptops, cameras, tablets and other office equipment, medical devices, measurement and testing equipment, electronic signage, POS and security systems.

Lemonade launched its renters and homeowners product in Germany targeting

the 16m millennials living in the country.

Adam Riese, the modern insurance brand by Wüstenrot & Württembergische that was

established in late 2017, is now offering dog owner liability insurance; in addition to legal, home/contents, liability and commercial liability coverage. The new coverage is offered via two tiers: XL and XXL starting from €24 per year and is sold through brokers, comparison portals and via www.adam-riese.de. JaSure, the Johannesburg-based brand by Constantia Insurance, is now live with a mobile-

only offering for on-demand coverage for bicycles, binoculars, cameras or golf clubs, as well as the accessories associated with these assets. Assets are covered from the exact time a user switches on coverage until the exact time he/she switches it off.

As expected, US-based lead-gen company EverQuote has expanded its marketplace to include health insurance and renters

insurance, building on the existing auto, home and life insurance marketplace offerings.

Back Me Up (BMU), the trading name of Ageas that offered an app to allow customers

under the age of 50 to insure up to four key items for a monthly fee that ranged from £9.99- £18.99, is no longer operational in the UK.

Allianz France has introduced HobbiSure, a daily coverage for accident or injury resulting

from sports (moving, gardening, biking , climbing…) or leisure activities. HobbiSure is available via mobile for €2.95 a day for up to 5 days.
