LOT NO. 17PRIVATE TOUR FOR TWO OF THE GLASS HOUSEA behind-the-scenes tour of the Glass House campus plus access to a world-class collection of Modern Art with Laura G. Einstein, Executive Director of the Center for Contemporary Printmaking as your exclusive guide. The Philip Johnson Glass House, a National Trust Historic Site, is one of the world’s most important icons of modern architecture. Over the course of fifty years, Philip Johnson and David Whitney used the 49-acre Glass House campus as a place to experiment with new forms in architecture, to house a cutting-edge collection of contemporary art, and most importantly, to hold gatherings that art historian Vincent Scully has described as the “most sustained cultural salon that the United States has ever seen.” In each decade, new structures were built, artwork acquired, and land-scape sculpted. Exclusions: Advanced reservations are required and subject to availability. Tours are not available November 30, 2015 to May 1, 2016. This tour offering expires November 30, 2016.Website: www.theglasshouse.orgDonated by The Glass House Estimated Value: $500
