WOW What a Week!
Congratulations to Brooke, Caleb and Maury for participating in the Cross
Country City Championships!
A huge thank you to Mrs. Quittenbaum and the Leadership Team for
sorting through all of the clothing donations. Your effort and time
commitment to the Pass it On Clothing drive and the GS Community is
amazing!
We had a healthy parent turn out at our Tri-school Screenagers viewing.
Students in grades 5-7 will watch the presentation during the upcoming
week.
Before / After School Student Supervision
This is a reminder for parents that supervision of
students is not available prior to 8:02 a.m. and
after 3:00 p.m. We have an increasing number of
students arriving well before 8:02 a.m. and due to
Occupational Health and Safety regulations,
students are not allowed to enter the building as
we do not have supervision, it is dark outside and
there is no supervision there either. This is
particularly a concern for elementary students. As
well, after school, students need to be picked up
by 3:00 p.m. Mon. – Thurs. and 1:50 on Fridays, as
they will be outside without supervision. We
realize this can be challenging for parents and there are times when pick
up gets delayed for unavoidable reasons, however the safety of students
is paramount so your understanding and cooperation is greatly
appreciated. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding any of
this, please contact school administration.
Please be considerate of the residents of Thorburn by refraining from
parking on both sides of the alley ways. Thank you in advance for your
courtesy.
