A ‘play on words’ occurs in this passage of Paul’s

writing…


Paul says, “It is all for your sake, so that as

charis (grace) extends to more and more

people it may increase eucharistian

(thanksgiving) to the glory of God.”


This could have been preserved in English by the use of ‘grace’ and ‘gratitude’ which show the same original root.

grace extends to more and more people it may

increase gratitude to the glory of God.”


Gratitude will only Exist where there is Grace!

The more we extend grace, the greater will

be our sense of thanksgiving or

gratitude!
