Annual 3K Run/Walk Event
Castle North Middle School’s Student Council would like to thank those businesses and families who have already of-
fered support for the upcoming 3K event. Special thanks to the Edris family and Joshi family for their contributions.
We are still in need of help! This event cannot happen without the support of our families and community. Because we
are in need of much funding, if your business or your family would be willing to make a donation of $300 or more, we
will place your business name or family name on the back of each shirt as a way of showing our appreciation for your
generosity. We are in need of much funding and thank you in advance for your support. In order for us to place your
company’s or family’s name on our shirts, we will need t-shirt donations by March 15. We also are in need of dona-
tions for fruit pops, door prizes, and awards. If you would be willing to offer assistance, please contact Ms. Killebrew
([email protected]) or Mrs. Etienne ([email protected]).

and pictures with local mascots. Registration forms will
start being available on February 17th in the front office.
CNMS will soon be advertising prizes and other opportu-

PTO Science Fair Note
“THANK YOU!”
Thank you to everyone who helped make the CNMS 2017
Science Fair a great success. Thank you to all our 78
judges, who took time out of their busy day to judge over
450 projects! Our food chairs, Molly Adams and Dana
Hall, did an amazing job organizing the breakfast, lunch
from Zoup! and refreshments for our judges. Also, so
many parents volunteered to donate food to make our
guests feel welcome. Finally, thank you to all the parents
who helped set up Wednesday or hung out all day Thurs-
day to greet incoming judges, answer questions, and write
ribbons. We could not have had such a smooth day with-
out all your help. The PTO is extremely grateful for our
wonderful parents!

The Forgetting
By S. Cameron
What isn't written, isn't remem-
bered. Even your crimes. Nadia
lives in the city of Canaan, where
life is safe and structured,
hemmed in by white stone walls
and no memory of what came
before. But every twelve years the
city descends into the bloody
chaos of the Forgetting, a day of
no remorse, when each person's
memories -- of parents, children,
love, life, and self -- are lost. Un-
less they have been written.
Worthy
By D. Cooner
Download the app. Be the judge.
Everyone at Linden's high school is obsessed
with Worthy. It's this new app that posts pic-
tures of couples, and asks: Is the girl worthy of
the guy?
Suddenly, relationships implode as the votes
climb and the comments get real ugly real fast.
Zero Day
By J. Gangsei
Eight years ago, Addie
Webster was the victim of the
most notorious kidnapping of the
decade. Addie vanished—and her
high-profile parents were forced
to move on. Mark Webster is now
president of the United States,
fighting to keep the oval office
after a tumultuous first term.
Then the unthinkable happens:
the president's daughter resurfac-
es. Addie is brought back into her
family's fold, but who is this six-
teen-year-old girl with a quiet,
burning intelligence now living in
the White House?

For the Love of Reading!
Overturned
By L. Giles
Nikki Tate is infamous,
even by Las Vegas standards. Her
dad is sitting on death row, con-
victed of killing his best friend in a
gambling dispute turned ugly. And
for five years, he's maintained his
innocence. But Nikki wants no
part of that. She's been working
on Operation Escape Vegas: play-
ing in illegal card games so she can
save up enough money to get out
come graduation day.
Then her dad's murder conviction
is overturned. The new evidence
seems to come out of nowhere
and Nikki's life becomes a mess
when he's released from prison.
Because the dad who comes
home is not the dad she remem-
bers. And he's desperately ob-
sessed with finding out
who framed him--and
why.
A Dog’s Pupose: A Novel for Humans
By W. B. Cameron
Heartwarming, insightful, and often laugh-
out-loud funny, A Dog's Purpose is not only the
emotional and hilarious story of a dog's many
lives, but also a dog's-eye commentary on hu-
man relationships and the unbreakable bonds
between man and man's best friend. This mov-
ing and beautifully crafted story teaches us that
love never dies, that our true friends are always
with us, and that every creature on earth is born
with a purpose.
EXO
By F. Lee
It's been a century of peace since Earth
became a colony of an alien race with far reach-
es into the galaxy. Some die-hard extremists still
oppose alien rule on Earth, but Donovan Reyes
isn't one of them. His dad holds the prestigious
position of Prime Liaison in the collaborationist
government, and Donovan's high social standing
along with his remarkable alien technology
fused to his body guarantee him a bright future
in the security forces.
By Your Side
By K. West
When Autumn Collins
finds herself accidentally locked in
the library for an entire weekend,
she doesn’t think things could get
any worse. But that’s before she
realizes that Dax Miller is locked
in with her. Autumn doesn’t know
much about Dax except that he’s
trouble. Between the rumors
about the fight he was in (and
that brief stint in juvie that fol-
lowed it) and his reputation as a
loner, he’s not exactly the ideal
person to be stuck with. Still, she
just keeps reminding herself that
it is only a matter of time before
Jeff, her almost-boyfriend, realiz-
es he left her in the library and
comes to rescue her.
Only he doesn’t come. No one
does.
