Mode of Action LASCAR ® contains 100 g/L pyriproxyfen Pyriproxyfen is a Juvenile Hormone Analogues insecticide, and is an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) which acts at multiple points in the insect life cycle, including preventing adult whitefly emergence and reducing the viability of eggs produced by whitefly LASCAR ® acts as a population disruptor. Since the insecticidal activity of LASCAR ® depends on targeting the correct growth stage of the insect’s development, outcomes will be slower than those achieved by typical contact control agents, but will be significantly less disruptive to beneficial insect populations and when used correctly is highly effective and long lasting LASCAR ® has translaminar activity to allow exposure to insects on both sides of the leaf. Standard Recommendations Cotton Application Rate: 500 mL/Ha. Apply when industry recommended thresholds of SLW are exceeded. If a second spray is required, a minimum re-treatment interval of two weeks must be observed. DO NOT apply more than twice in any one season. Timing: Apply as per relevant cotton industry Insecticide Resistance Management Strategy (IRMS). For industry thresholds please refer to the current Cotton Pest Management Guide. LASCAR ® is recommended to be used between 1450 and 1800 Day Degrees of the Cotton crop, normally falling between stage 3 and stage 4 of the IRMS. LASCAR

Product Overview• LASCAR® provides excellent control of Silverleaf Whitefly (SLW) in Cotton

• LASCAR® has a strong IPM profile and is rated as “VERY LOW” for its effect on beneficial insects

• LASCAR® is not yet registered at time of printing.

† Lascar® is not registered at time of printing.

Mode of Action

• LASCAR® contains 100 g/L pyriproxyfen

• Pyriproxyfen is a Juvenile Hormone Analogues insecticide, and is an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) which acts at

multiple points in the insect life cycle, including preventing adult whitefly emergence and reducing the viability of

eggs produced by whitefly

• LASCAR® acts as a population disruptor. Since the insecticidal activity of LASCAR® depends on targeting the

correct growth stage of the insect’s development, outcomes will be slower than those achieved by typical contact

control agents, but will be significantly less disruptive to beneficial insect populations and when used correctly is

highly effective and long lasting

• LASCAR® has translaminar activity to allow exposure to insects on both sides of the leaf.

Standard RecommendationsCottonApplication Rate: 500 mL/Ha. Apply when industry recommended thresholds of SLW are exceeded. If a second spray

is required, a minimum re-treatment interval of two weeks must be observed. DO NOT apply more than twice in any

one season.

Timing: Apply as per relevant cotton industry Insecticide Resistance Management Strategy (IRMS).

For industry thresholds please refer to the current Cotton Pest Management Guide.

Features Benefits

Excellent SLW control Growers will be able to reduce sticky cotton/honeydew issues and potential quality downgrades

Soft on beneficial insects Allows growers and agronomists to maximise the benefits of anIPM program

Translaminar movement through the leaf Controls pests on both sides of the leaf where good coverage is notalways possible

Long residual control. Reduced need to retreat and reduced crop damage.

Spray Application RecommendationsCottonGround Application: Apply in 100 - 150 L water/Ha. Ground application must be the first option undertaken;

aerial application may only be applied in cases where canopy closure prevents ground access. Apply when industry

recommended thresholds of SLW are exceeded.

Aerial Application: Ensure thorough coverage. Apply in a spray volume of 20 - 30 L/Ha of water.

Resistance Management• SLW have short and overlapping generations which encourages rapid

development of resistance to insecticides, (the high populations in which they

occur, contributes to the selection pressure for resistant individuals)

• Adama encourages strict adherence to industry resistance management

guidelines as outlined in the IRMS

• DO NOT use LASCAR® more than twice in any one season, and allow at least

two weeks between applications

• Alternate LASCAR® with chemicals from a different chemical group

(e.g. RECEPTOR®, VENOM® and Movento*).

Silverleaf Whitefly Effects on CottonSilverleaf Whitefly damage Cotton in two ways:

1. High numbers of SLW from multiple overlapping generations cause retardation

of growth through their feeding action

2. Feeding SLW secrete large quantities of honeydew that affects photosynthesis

and causes problems with fibre processing and potential quality downgrades.
