• It was invented by Bell Labs from about 1947 to 1967

•Later, Martin Cooper apparently build a small radio telephone that could be carried by a person.

Global System for Mobile communication

• It’s based on TDMA which means that many people can use the system at once.

• Time Division means that each user has conversations going through at different times.

3G• 3G is the third

generation of mobile phone technology.

• Services include wide-area wireless voice telephony.

• 3G networks are wide area cellular telephone networks which evolved to incorporate high-speed internet access and video telephony.

Mobile phone cameras

• The first camera phone was a SHARP and J-Phone in Japan in 2000.

• Today's state of the art (January 2005) camera phones have 5 Megapixel image size, auto-focus, movies, GPS, JAVA, 3G or 3.5G mobile internet connection.
