Communication”.

My deepest thanks to teacher, Mrs. Rifat, the Guide of the project for

guiding and correcting various documents of mine with attention and

care. She has taken pain to go through the project and make necessary

correction as and when needed.

I would also thank my seniors and my friend without whom this projectwould have been a distant reality.

Introduction

of Mobile Communication

A   wireless   form   of

communication  in  which  voice

and data information is emitted,

transmitted   and   received   viamicrowaves.   This   type   of

communication   allows

individuals to converse with one

another   and/or   transmit   and

receive data while moving from

place to place. Some examples

include:   cellular   and   digital

cordless   telephones;   pagers;

telephone   answering   devices;air-to-ground

telecommunications;   and

satellite-based communications.

A cellular phone is a portable

telephone that does not use a

wired connection. It connects to

a wireless carrier network using

radio waves.

Methodology

Social Survery :-

Social survey are very popular in sociology and perhaps the best knownmethod to study society. Social survey is an organized way of acquiringknowledge in which some scientific technology are used, such asobersvation and investigation etc to study social phenomena andproblems. Through surveys on effort is made to find solutions. To socialproblems by keeping the aim of social reform in mind. It is scientificbecause its study is conducted not according to one own wishes but isbased upon scientific method.

Social survey is a method of collection dependable data related to aspectsof social life and social problem which are based upon scientificassumptions. Some scholars are of the option that social surveys areconcerned only with social problems or pathological issues and its mainaim is to discover the solution for such problems. The nature of socialsurvey is scientific and it has both theoretical and applied objectives.Social surveys can be various types, such as, census survey, samplesurvey, regular and adhoc survey, final and repetitive survey, qualitativeand quantitative survey, public and secret survey.

Scientific step of conduction social survey :-

Selection of the topic.Study of related material.Defining the units of study and determining the sources of data.Techinques of data collectionDetermining of data collection.Determining time and expense of survey.Determination and selection of field works. An administrative office and training of field workers.Establishing contact with the respondentsObservation and collection of data.Classification and tabulation of data.Generalization

I used the survey method in which I made 25 survey questions in theform of objective and some subjective.

Research method means to conduct scientific studies to discover reality. Itis an attempt to discover new things, facts and information throughscientific method. The method used to carry out research is known as“SCIENTIFIC METHOD” or “RESEARCH METHOD”. To simple words, it canbe said that “Research is the aim and method is the means of attaningthat aim”.  Such type of research takes place not only in physical sciences

but also in social sciences. We can say that social research is an attemptmade by the sociologist in order to discover social reality. To discoversocial facts as they are and also to study the course effect relationshipsthrough scientific method.

Research  today has become an integral part of sociology. For asociologist research can be very interesting and exciting prospect. It is fullof challenges, some disappointments, new discoveries, amazing truthsetc. At times it is like a detective work whose by the social researchertumbles upon facts which the least experts. Doing social research I lin

solving mysteries that are clouded by ones imagination and dream world. The sociologist thus to produce knowledge that is scientific through socialresearch before we go further and understand the methods used forscientific research in sociology.

History of the Cell Phones

In the beginning, two-way radios

(known as mobile rigs) were used invehicles such as taxicabs, police

cruisers, ambulances, and the like,

Users could not dial phone numbers

from their mobile radios in their

vehicles.

A large community of mobile radio

users, known as the mobileers,

popularized the During the early 1940s, Motorola developed a

backpacked two-way radio, the Walkie-

Talkie and later developed a large

hand-held two-way radio for the US

military. This battery powered

“Handie-Talkie” (HT) was about the

size of a man’s forearm.

In December 1947, Douglas H. Ring and W. Rae Young, Bell Labs engineers,

proposed hexagonal cells for mobile phones. Cellular technology was undeveloped

until the 1960s, when Richard H. Frenkiel and Joel S. Engel of Bell Labs

developed the electronics.

Radio telephony was introduced on passenger airplanes for air traffic security..

Recognizable mobile phones with direct dialing have existed at least since the

1950s.  The first fully automatic mobile phone system, called MTA (Mobile

Telephone system A), was developed by Ericsson and commercially released in

Sweden in 1956.

One of the first truly successful public commercial mobile phone networks was theARP network in Finland, launched in 1971.

Dr. Martin Cooper of Motorola, made the first US analogue mobile phone call on a

larger prototype model in 1973

Basics of the Cell Phones

Cellular phone is a portable telephone that does not use a wired

connection.

A cellular phone network uses a number of short-range radio

transmitter-receivers to communicate.

The wireless network is connected to the public telephone system,

another wireless carrier network or the Internet for completing calls

to another phone or to a computer.

Inside a Cell Phone

• Parts of  A  Cell Phone

• A microscopic microphone

• A speaker

• An LCD or plasma display

• A keyboard not unlike the onewe saw in a TV remote control

• An antenna

• A battery

•An amazing circuit boardcontaining the guts of thephone

Issues related with Cell PhonesMobile phone radiation and health concerns have been raised, because mobile

phones use electromagnetic radiation in the microwave range.

Health Hazards of Hand Sets

Part of the radio waves emitted by a mobile telephone handset is absorbed by the human head.

The rate at which radiation is absorbed by the human body is measured by the

Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), and its maximum levels for modern handsets

have been set by governmental regulating agencies

Thermal effects

Dielectric heating,

Most of the heating effect will occur at the surface of the head,

Some parts of the human head are more sensitive to damage from increases in

temperature,

Blood Brain Barrier Effects

Swedish researchers have studied the effects of microwave radiation on the ratbrain. They found a leakage of albumin into brain via a permeated blood-brain

barrier

Effects On Sleep

A study showed that mobile phone signals affect sleep patterns and possibly

delay sleep onset during exposure.
