INVALCO’s new CM6 Pilot Guard was designed to be easily plumbed into CM5 Pilot Guard installations. The CM6 Pilot Guard is, however, a completely new design and as such operates differently than the CM5 PilotGuard. The CM6 uses a thermocouple to power an electromagnet to hold the inner valve open as long as thereis flame at the pilot. The CM5 used the thermal expansion of mercury to accomplish this. When igniting the pilotflame, the reset knob on the CM5 would send a signal to the pilot and reset itself as the mercury bulb came up totemperature and opened the main burner. The CM6 reset button must be manually reset before it can send asignal to the main burner thus avoiding unexpected main burner ignition. See the reverse side of this page forsimplified operating instructions for the CM6 Pilot Guard. Refer to the complete Installation and OperationManual packaged with the CM6 Pilot Guard for complete instructions and important safety information.
