TALK 4: “BUILT TO LAST: THE HEART OF A STEWARD”

INTRODUCTION

We don’t want the YFC program to go the way of some organization that were strong in the beginning and eventually disintegrated. Gal. 2:3-4 “Are you so stupid! After the beginning with the Spirit, are you now ending with the flesh?”

We need to build the right foundation from the start. When we start YFC in the school, we build something for the long term, a group that will last… we are here not just to crate a prayer group but rather to create a way of life and work for the restoration and rebuilding the social environment of the young.

HOW DO WE BUILD TO LAST?

A. Start right!1. Begin with the end in mind

1.1Have a vision (share the vision of the YFC community)1.2Grow in the vision1.3Impart the vision

2. Build a good team from the beginning2.1 Work on the principle of empowering the leaders2.2 Do not make the work dependent on you2.3 Draw the right people to share in the leadership, not just the

CONCLUSION

YFC is a permanent gift of God to the world and to our family. As responsible leaders, we should seize the opportunity to build a solid foundation and to guarantee the continuity of the work we dedicated our life to. As it is a blessing to us now, it will continue to be a blessing to the generation after us.

REFLECTION

Isaiah 61:8-9 “ I will give them their recompense faithfully, a lasting covenant I will make with them. Their descendants shall be renowned among nations, and their offspring among people, all who see them shall acknowledge them as a race the Lord has blessed.”

Note: Actual planning to be scheduled/conducted in a separate leader’s gathering with respective local areas.
