Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe November 24, 2019

From the Pastor

Dcn. Abel CortesDcn. Larry Lucido

Dcn. Bob Marrinan Dcn. Brian MitchellDcn. Peter Raad

My Dear Parishioners,

This Sunday we celebrate the Solemnity of Our Lord, Jesus Christ the King! Christ Jesus, Victor, Christ Jesus, Ruler, Christ Jesus, Lord and Redeemer! It is fitting that this celebration comes at the end of the Liturgical Year. At the end of time, our King Jesus Christ will come to judge the living and the dead. In hope, we pray that Christ our King will call us to share in that everlasting life of heaven. If we want to share in that heavenly kingdom, we are called to practice “sharing” our blessings here in this earthly realm. In our sharing, let us always keep Christ the King in mind as the one whom we serve in the least of our brothers and sisters.

The Eucharist is “an act of thanksgiving to God.” (CCC 1328). We are dependent on God for everything that we are, for our very lives. And God has blessed us with one another. Thanksgiving is a good time to give thanks to God for all the blessings which have been bestowed on us throughout this past year. When we share our blessings with one another, we help and encourage each other in the building up of the Kingdom of God. On behalf of Fr. Wade Bass, Fr. Paul Weinberger, our deacons and our entire staff, we extend to you and your family our prayers during this Thanksgiving week. We pray for all families, travelers, and for all of those who will be away from their loved ones during this Thanksgiving time. Please remember to thank God by participating at Holy Mass with your family on this national day of Thanksgiving!

The Season of Advent begins next Saturday evening. (Nov. 30-Dec. 1). During Advent, I encourage each family to gather together in prayer and invite Christ our King to dwell within each family and within our parish.

In Christ,Fr. Guadagnoli
