TEN GOLDEN RULES FOR CORRECT INSTALLATION

All horizontal pipesshould have a mi-nimum fall of1:100.

Bends should besmooth/long ra-dius, not tight el-bows.(Examplesof copper andplastic shown.)

Pipes entering themacerator shouldhave a gravity fall of1:33.

Where the pipework fallsto a floor lower for exam-ple, fit an air admittancevalve at the highestpoint capable of with-standing 10psi pressure,or increase pipe sizecoming down to ‘break’syphon.

If a vertical run is nee-ded, this should be atthe start of the run(within 30cm of theunit) and from thehigh point there mustbe a minimum fall of1:100 (see rule 1).

Each discharge pipeshould run separatelyto the soil pipe. Ifwastes are combi-ned, it can only beinto a larger pipe,which is on a gravityfall.

Since many close cou-pled WC suites do nothave the space bet-ween the WC pan spi-got and the wall, youmay have to batten thecistern off the wallto make room for themacerator.

Position the macera-tor behind the toiletnot underneath it.

We recommend for youto use biodegradablesdetergents for thewashing machine anddishwasher; and alsouse a descaler in orderto keep calcium out ofthe system.

The unit should beeasily accessibleand removable inthe event ofmaintenance beingrequired. If boxed in,the boxing should beeasily removed. Anyextension betweenthe WC pan spigotand wall should notexceed 150mm.
