Dog.doc Dog is the name of the file .doc is the extension of the file,
stands for word document Wildcard to be used:
*: identifies a set of characters ?: identifies a single character For example, st*.doc, dat?.ppt

searching: D?s*.* (find all the files start with D,
and the third character of the file name is s)
??y.ppt (find all powerpoint files that have ‘y’ as the third character in the file name)
