Minoxidil + What Minoxidil + is used for Minoxidil + is a commonly used topical solution and is better at stimulating new hair growth rather than preventing hair loss. It works better before you go bald. The active ingredient in Minoxidil + is Minoxidil which is a TGA-approved ingredient and available over the counter in pharmacies for lower dosages with anything above 5% requiring a prescription. How Minoxidil + works Minoxidil was initially developed as a medication to lower blood pressure but it was quickly discovered that an unexpected side effect was hair growth. Minoxidil works by enlarging miniaturized hair follicles although its exact mechanism of action is not known. How effective is Minoxidil + in regrowing hair? There is excellent evidence that Minoxidil restores hair growth. There are also a substantial number of studies showing that it is safe and that higher concentrations of Minoxidil are more effective. It is important for you to understand that Minoxidil + does not work well in all people. If you respond to treatment with Minoxidil +, your initial regrowth may at first be soft, downy hair ("vellus"), and may hardly be visible. After further treatment it is likely that your hair regrowth will change and become the same colour and thickness as the rest of your hair. Before you take Minoxidil + Do not take Minoxidil + if: you have an allergy to Minoxidil or any of the ingredients listed at the end of this leaflet. Symptoms of an allergic reaction to Minoxidil may include skin rash, or swelling of the lips or face. you have any heart problems. you are a woman and are pregnant or may be pregnant. you do not have a family history of hair loss. your hair loss is sudden and/or unexplained. your scalp is red, inflamed, irritated, infected or painful. you are under 18 or over 65 years of age. you have a history of pheochromocytoma (adrenal tumour). How to take Minoxidil + Minoxidil + must only be applied when the hair and scalp are completely dry. You should continue to use Minoxidil + as directed by your pharmacist or Hairmop doctor. Once Minoxidil + is stopped, the appearance of your hair will return to how it was before you started to use Minoxidil +. Apply one dose (1 mL) of Minoxidil + to the hair loss area of your scalp two times a day, preferably morning and night. 1 mL of Minoxidil + can be applied by pressing the sprayer button twice. Massage the solution lightly into your scalp, and wash your hands well afterwards. This dose should be used no matter what the size of the bald spot is. How long to take it Male pattern hair loss is a condition that develops over a long period of time. Because it takes time for new hair to grow, you will not see immediate results. In general, it has been shown that twice daily use of Minoxidil + may be required for at least four months before you will see the evidence of cosmetically acceptable hair growth. Response to treatment with Minoxidil + may vary widely, and some patients may see faster results than others. Continue taking Minoxidil + for as long as your Hairmop doctor prescribes. If you stop taking it Treatment with Minoxidil + is a long- term therapy for hair regrowth. If you respond to treatment, you will need to continue to use Minoxidil + in order to keep the new hair and also to stop additional hair loss. If you stop using Minoxidil + you will probably lose the hair that has already grown back. This hair loss will occur about three to four months after stopping treatment. The balding process will also start again. What to do if Minoxidil + is accidentally swallowed? If Minoxidil + is accidentally swallowed contact your nearest hospital or Poisons Information Centre (telephone number 13 11 26) immediately. Some of the symptoms which you may experience are fast heart rate, low blood pressure (lightheadedness or fainting), swelling or puffiness of the body. Side Effects Tell your doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible if you do not feel well while you are taking Minoxidil +. Minoxidil + helps men and women with hair regrowth, but it may have unwanted side effects in a few men and women. All medicines can have side effects. Sometimes they are serious, most of the time they are not. You may need medical treatment if you get some of the side effects. Ask your Hairmop doctor or pharmacist to answer any questions you may have. Tell your Hairmop doctor if you notice any of the following and they worry you: allergic-type reactions; itching and other skin irritations of the treated area of the scalp; eczema; redness of the scalp where Minoxidil + is being applied; dry skin/scalp flaking; excessive hair growth on other parts of the body; or increased hair loss. These are the more common side effects of Minoxidil. For the most part these have been mild. Tell your pharmacist or Hairmop doctor as soon as possible if you notice any of the following: rapid heart rate; unexplained rapid weight gain of 2 to 3 kg or more; swelling or puffiness of hands, face, ankles, or stomach; dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting; or problems with vision. These are serious side effects. You may need urgent medical attention. Serious side effects are rare. If any of the following occur stop using Minoxidil + and tell your doctor immediately or go to casualty at your nearest hospital: pain in the chest, arm or shoulder; or signs of severe indigestion. These are very serious side effects. You may need urgent medical attention or hospitalisation. These side effects are rare.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Minoxidil!+! Do not be alarmed by this list of possible side effects. You may not experience any of them. !Our$compounded$difference Our Minoxidil + is a customised compounded prescription solution that contains the TGA-approved hair growth medication Minoxidil (at higher concentrations than off-the-shelf Minoxidil) and Retinoic Acid for enhanced scalp permeability. Compared to other popular over-the-counter formulations, Minoxidil + is non-greasy and easy to apply. Many other Minoxidil formulations cause scalp irritation and leave behind an oily residue that interferes with hairstyling. Our Minoxidil + formula is designed to have as little impact as possible on hairstyling and appearance after application. In addition, our precision fine mist applicator allows you to target areas of thinning and baldness to deliver the formula directly to the scalp for superior penetration and absorption when compared to Minoxidil foam. In seconds, you can have the hair loss treatment fully applied with no drips or mess, a convenience you could never enjoy with any Minoxidil dropper formula on the market. After&using&Minoxidil!+ Storage Keep the topical application in a cool place where the temperature stays below 30° C and do not expose it to steam or heat. Minoxidil + is very flammable, and must be kept away from heat, sparks and naked flames. Never use Minoxidil + while you are smoking. Do not leave Minoxidil + in the car, or in the sun on hot days. Too much heat can destroy the product. Keep Minoxidil + in a place where children cannot reach it, such as in a medicine cupboard. Disposal If your Hairmop doctor tells you to stop taking Minoxidil +, or the product has passed its expiry date, ask your pharmacist what to do with any of the leftover solution. !!!!!
