One time, I cast a‘love’ spell onto this man that never paid attention to me. It workedexcept it was not love, it was powerful lust. He was hungry for me a

to R & B and Gangster Rap music, which motivated me to hate. One day inuary 2001, I was lighting a candle to cast a spell when I heard a voice say, ‘Don’t do thi

s is wrong.’ After that, I couldn’t cast spells because the wind kept blowing my candles en, I lost the desire to do the witchcraft all together, and even when I would try, it felt wrd I would stop. In April 2001, I was standing out on the street when someone handed meer. ‘If you want to stop using drugs, come to this meeting,’ it said. I felt that I had to gont and there were people praying to Jesus. I hated Christians, so I left and went home. Mther saw me come in and she told me I had to go back to the meeting. I thought this wazy because she hated Christians, too. I went back and I met God face to face. It was lik

"Today, after 12 months at Teen Challenge, I have a solid foundation in Jesus. I feee; full of love, so light I am walking on cotton candy. Recently, I carried around a rose pday amazed at the wondrous creations of God! The more I get to know Him, the biggers. My mind cannot contain Him; He is just too big!"

RUGS AND THE OCCULT

Ephesians 6:12 says, “Forour struggle is not againstflesh and blood, but againstthe rulers, against theauthorities, against thepowers of this dark worldand against the spiritualforces of evil in theheavenly realms.”

At Minnesota TeenChallenge, we have anincreasing number of residents who have beeninvolved in occult activity. We help individuals break the bonds of sorcery andwitchcraft as well as drugs

and alcohol.

"I practiced the Wiccanreligion in secret for years. Ismoked pot because it helpedme reach a higher spiritualrealm. I thought I wasblessing people, but Satanonly made it seem positive,to draw me in," says A., aTeen Challenge resident. Shenow knows that the drugs

stripped away her consciouswill and left her open to evilspirits. Drugs are Satan’stools. “When people areunder their influence, theyaccomplish his wickeddesires,"writes Dale Robbins,an evangelist and pastor forover 25 years. Understandingthe satanic relationship withdrugs is imperative tocombating the drugepidemic.

"As a witch, I used drugsto destroy people’s sense of reason. If I could get some-one addicted, even better, then I owned them. It mademy divination over themmore complete,"says B., aresident in our programand former Wiccan highpriest. God clearly states thatpharmakeia (which can be

translated ‘witchcraft,’‘sorcery,’ or ‘drug use’) is a

sin in Galatians 5:19-20a; "Theacts of the sinful nature areobvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;idolatry and pharmakeia."Traditional drug task forces can-not combat the web of sorcerythat fuels our drug culture. "I,along with four other witches, used our power to manipulate30 to 40 other covens at a time. They sold drugs and stole forus, and the cops couldn’t figureout how we were doing it,"says B.

Satan is not only involved inselling drugs, but he also helps

those who serve him make thedrugs more potent. Alchemy, therelationship between the use of physically altering mixtures andthe wielding of evil power, is a

fuller meaning for the Greek word pharmakeia. "When I wascaught, the FBI told me I wasproducing the best meth in thestate. I know it was because of my involvement in sorcery. Thechemicals shouldn’t have turnedout the way they did, butbecause of my sorcery, theyalways did," states B.

Although all drugs and alcoholaccomplish Satan’s evil plan to"steal, kill and destroy,"methamphetamine is one drugthat is particularly linked todemonic activity. Meth accountsfor up to 90% of all drug cases

in many mid-west communities.Seizures of meth labs in the

mid-west have increased tefrom 1995-1997.Methamphetamine, commocalled "the drug of violencemade using chemicals thatwould kill you if ingestedseparately. Meth inducesparanoia that often leads tosuicide and murder. It is higaddictive, produces hallucintions and may cause heartfailure and stroke. Meth adare the hardest of all drug uto treat.

"Methamphetamine is whSatan has been working ofor hundreds and hundre

years,"writes Steve Box, ibook Meth=Sorcery. It tw"people’s morals, values ancharacter into a likeness of him," Box continues. "Not does the production dependevil power, it also gives themeth cook power over peopGirls would sell themselvesall kinds of perversions, mewould kill, husbands wouldeven trade 30 minutes with

wives to a dealer for a quaror half a gram." S., a womeour program, remembers,"My boyfriend, who washeavily involved in Satanisused to summon demons inour apartment, cut satanicsymbols into my chest anddrink my blood. I knew thawhat he was doing was creebut I was so high on meth tdidn’t care."

Since coming to TeenChallenge, A., B. and S. hagiven their lives to God andliving for Him. S. says,"Whatever power that Sahad on my lif is nocomparison of the powerChrist has on me now. I afree and I am no longer inbondage. I have beendelivered from the darknethat I was in. Praise the L

Our children are undersiege by Satan. He knows histime is nearly over and isstopping at nothing to take asmany as he can with him toburn in hell. If he can enticea child, he sometimes cankeep them for eternity.

"I used to play and tradein these cards all the time,"says B. picking up one of theMagic: The Gatheringtrading cards. "They aredefinitely a gateway to the

demonic." "The game Magicdoes nothing more than teachyour child how to be asorcerer," says Pastor Jeff,MTC Teen Boys dean. Ourkids are being drawn to thedemonic on every front fromthe music they listen to, thegames they play, a search onthe net, to the multitudes of sin on TV and the easyaccessibility of drugs in ourschools and on the streets of

our cities. Books aboutsorcery, witchcraft, fantagames and Satan worshipbe purchased at Amazonand at your local bookstoA search for books aboutsorcery yielded 39 booksalone. "If they want to finit, they will," says M., agraduate of TC.

come from the KingdomGod, then we are not to binvolved in it

Most of the TC residents we interviewed who had been involved in the Occult, were alsonvolved in Wicca. "A lot of residents I have counseled used meth and started worshiping ithout even realizing what they were doing," states MTC Pastor Karl Lundgren, Pastoralounselor.

Wiccan's claim they worship the sacred in nature, often in the form of mother earth and father sky. They believe in reincarnation and openly

ractice magic.

• In 1972, witchcraft was recognized as a religion by theUnited States government.

• Wiccan churches are tax exempt non-profit organizations underthe IRS code 501 (c) (3). Wiccan priests and priestesses have been

given access to penitentiaries, and have the privilege of performing"handfastings," their term for marriages.

n March 5, 2001, the list of religious preferences in the U.S. Air Force Personnel Data

ystem was augmented to include: Druidism, Paganism, Shamanism and Wicca.2001, the Graduate Center of the City University of New York estimated there were

34,000 Wiccans living in the United States.
