Mindjet Deal Navigator 2.3: Installation Instructions
IMPORTANT NOTES:
The Salesforce Spring 2010 release introduced enhanced security capabilities for custom object permissions,
which are now also being carried forward into the Spring 2011 release as well. In the Enterprise, Unlimited
and Developer Editions of Salesforce, when you create a custom object, the “Read”, “Create”, “Edit”, “Delete”,
“View All” and “Modify All” permissions for that object are disabled for any profile for which “View All Data”
or “Modify All Data” is disabled. This ensures that all users are not immediately provided with full access to
custom objects.
You can change these permissions in custom profiles, but not in standard profiles. That is, users with
standard profiles (except for System Administrator) cannot access new custom objects—you must assign
these users custom profiles and then edit the profiles.
NOTE 1: Salesforce CRM Professional Edition does not provide the ability to create custom profiles, and does
not enable permissions for custom objects that are part of Mindjet Deal Navigator for its standard profiles.
Therefore, Mindjet Deal Navigator 2.3 is only certified currently for the Enterprise and Unlimited Editions of
Salesforce.
To enable access to custom objects, please do one of the following:
a. Clone the profiles of the users whose object permissions you want to change.
b. Edit the custom profiles, enabling the permissions you want.
c. Then edit the user’s accounts, assigning to these users the appropriate “cloned” custom profiles.
For users with custom profiles, simply edit their profiles, and enable the permissions that you
want them to have.
NOTE 2: All Salesforce user profiles, including the Administrator Profile) that will have access to Mindjet
Deal Navigator will need to have at least “Read” permission for the following Account entity fields:
Account Number and Account Site. Please note the steps below to set up these permissions.

For the Salesforce Administrator:
1. User Profile Management
From the “Setup” Administrator prompt, you must navigate to the “Manage Users” tab under
Administration Setup. Click on “Profiles”. The SFDC Administrator must create a new custom profile.
You will be prompted to clone the profile from an existing profile, and then must select a name for this
new custom profile.
This new custom profile will then inherit the permissions from the parent profile, and can therefore be
successfully modified as required by the Mindjet Deal Navigator deployment process.
This process must be repeated for every profile assigned to a user who will access and use Mindjet Deal
Navigator.
2. Assign the appropriate custom profiles to each specific Salesforce user that is to have access and use of of Mindjet Deal Navigator.
3. Read Permission Setup for Account and Contact Entity Fields for Mindjet Deal Navigator Use Mindjet Deal Navigator functions properly with read access to specific Salesforce.com fields of different record types. Please select “Setup” and then under “Administration Setup” select “Security Controls”. Once this section is open, please select the “Field Accessibility Option”. Account Select “Account” from the presented list of records for which you would like to view field accessibility. Under the Account “view” options, select “View by Profiles” so that you can then select a profile and view a table of field accessibility for different record types. Please choose the “System Administrator” profile to then view this table, and click on the Field Access column value for “Account Number”. Set the Field-Level Security to “Visible” and then hit “Save”. You should repeat this step for the “Account

Site” field. Click on the “View by Profiles” link under the Account field accessibility header, and then select the custom profile(s) that you have defined above for your Deal Navigator users. Set the Field-Level security setting for both “Account Number” and “Account Site” to “Visible” as well, and then hit “Save”. Contact Under Security Controls | Field Accessibility, select “Contact” from the presented list of records for viewing field level accessibility. Under the Contact “view” options, select “View by Profiles”. For both the “System Administrator” and “Deal Navigator User” profiles, click on the Field Access column for “Title” and perform the same field level security update to “Visible” as you have for the Account records noted above. IMPORTANT NOTE: If an “Insufficient Privileges” error appears in invoking Mindjet Deal Navigator post-deployment, please verify that the required Salesforce object record type fields have read access level values defined for them for the custom profiles assigned to your Mindjet Deal Navigator users. Appendix A in this guide lists these object record types and their respective underlying fields.

Confirmation of API Access Provision to Mindjet
12. The Installation process now displays the forms of access that the components of Mindjet Deal Navigator
will have to defined Salesforce objects via the API. Please note that this access will still be constrained by
the user’s profile, as it is defined within Salesforce Admin Setup.
In addition to access to standard objects, Mindjet Deal Navigator will also have access to all of the custom
objects that you have defined within your organization.

As part of the Salesforce package installer, please specify “Select Security Settings” to define these
settings for your installation of Mindjet Deal Navigator.
Mindjet Deal Navigator: Security Level Definition for User Profiles
The “Select Security Levels” security option will provide several potential “Access Level” assignment values
for your organization’s custom profiles. For those custom profiles that you will assign to users of Mindjet
Deal Navigator, select “Full Access” to ensure that these users have unrestricted access to all features and
operations inside Mindjet Deal Navigator, regardless of whether or not one of these users owns an
Account they are viewing. After specifying the access levels for these profiles, select “Next” to continue
the installation process.

Deployed Mindjet Deal Navigator Package Details Summary
17. The SFDC administrator must then return to Setup | Manage Users | Profiles and open the recently
created custom profile. From here this individual should scroll to the bottom to the Visualforce Page, and
click “Edit”.
From here, each of the objects under “Available Visualforce Pages” MUST be added to the column
“Enabled Visualforce Pages”. Please enter “Save” to then commit all of these Visualforce page
assignments.
NOTE: This step MUST be repeated for all of the Custom Profiles that the Administrator has created and

that is at least 400px high and distributed on only one column.

19. License Management: Assignment of Deal Navigator Licenses to Specific Users As a default for trials, Mindjet allocates 100 trial user licenses to you for the use of Mindjet Deal Navigator. In order for individual users to have access to the trial, you will need to follow the instructions below to add these users to your Mindjet Deal Navigator package. If you require more than the allotted 100 trial user licenses granted to you, or would like to purchase non-trial licenses, please contact Mindjet at 1 (877) MINDJET. License Assignment Management Click “Setup”, and then select “Deploy” under the “App Setup” header. Click on “View Installed Packages” to see the installed Mindjet Deal Navigator package.
Installed Packages for License Management For the Mindjet Deal Navigator package, select the “Manage Licenses” action to navigate to the Package Details page in which you can add or remove users from your license set. Salesforce notes the number of used licenses as you either add or remove users for the Mindjet Deal Navigator package. NOTE: To assign licenses for a package, you must have access to the package and at least one available license.

Licensed User Assignment & Removal NOTE: If you either purchased a site license or the Mindjet Deal Navigator package is not licensed, then Salesforce.com automatically assigns licenses to all of your users. In this case, the ability to manage licenses is not available. Your users can use the Mindjet Deal Navigator application as long as you have assigned the appropriate profiles and permissions to them.

Mindjet Control Panel: Favor Field Setup Mindjet Deal Navigator includes a Control Panel that you use to set up specific attributes, their values, and associated icons that you can then select for assignment to account contacts within the application. The Control Panel also allows you to specify how you would like the layout structure of your org chart to appear. Select the ”All Tabs” option on the right side of the Salesforce tab menu. Then select “Deal Navigator Control Panel” from the available tab options that are shown.

NOTE: This field can be any one that you define within the Contact Object with a data type of “Picklist”. We have provided one called “Disposition” for your convenience as part of the Mindjet Deal Navigator package installation, but you may decide to use whatever field makes sense for your object model and sales methodology. The Label of this field is then used to identify the toolbar submenu for these icons within Mindjet Deal Navigator.

The Mindjet Control Panel provides an option for layout control of the org charts generated by Mindjet Deal Navigator. These two options are:
Enable a horizontal layout for the top tier level of the org chart. The underlying tiers of the org chart will then render left to right as the user clicks to open up these branches, in tree style.
Enable a horizontal layout for the top two tiers of the org chart, rather than just the first one. 3rd levels and below of the org chart will render when opened left to right in tree style. Select the layout control option that you prefer, and then select “Save” to commit both your Favor Field definitions and overall org chart layout control selection.
21. Assignment of “External”, “Disposition” and “Tags” Fields to Contacts Page Layouts (Optional) Mindjet Deal Navigator 2.3 provides three attribute settings that you can assign to contacts within the application: External: External allows for the designation of a contact as being outside of the formal account organization. Disposition: Disposition enables a user to note the current disposition temperature of a specific contact towards the prospective seller. Tags: Tags for Mindjet Deal Navigator 2.3 is an action a user can take to tag a specific contact as relevant for inclusion in the org chart view. Mindjet Deal Navigator ensures that all “external”, “disposition” and “tags” value assignments within the application are stored within Salesforce as part of the underlying record for that contact. An administrator can update the relevant Contact page layouts within Salesforce so that these three Contact attributes and the values assigned to them are shown within the Salesforce Contact Form. From under Salesforce Setup, please navigate to “Setup|App Setup|Contacts|Account|Page Layout”. Select “Edit” for the first Contact Page Layout to which you want to add these fields.

Contact Page Layout Within the Contact Layout screen, select “Fields” from the upper left toolbar. Buttons for “Disposition”, “External” and “Tags” will appear on the right side. Select this button for the field attribute that you want to add, and then drag it to the position on the page where you would like this field to be located. Contact Layout Form IMPORTANT NOTE: Ensure Field-Level Security for These Added Fields As the administrator, you will need to ensure that you have defined the proper field level security settings for the “Disposition”, “External” and “Tags” fields for the profiles you have assigned to your Mindjet Deal Navigator Users. Navigate to “Administration Setup |Manage Users | Profiles”, and the select the first of these Mindjet Deal Navigator user profiles. Under “Field-Level Security” for this profile, select “View” for “Contact” within the Standard Field-Level Security Section. If needed, edit this Contact Field-Level Security form for this profile, and set “External” and/or “Disposition” and/or “Tags” to “Visible”. Then hit “Save” to commit these profile updates. You need to verify that the Field Level Security settings on these fields are set this way for all of the profiles that you have assigned to your Mindjet Deal Navigator users.

Contact Field-Level Security for Mindjet Deal Navigator Profile
22. Enable Full Permissions for Deal Navigator Custom Objects For each of your Mindjet Deal Navigator user profiles, you will also need to verify that all of the custom objects provided by this application have all of their basic access permissions enabled. Navigate to the “Custom Objects Permissions” section for each profile, and verify that the following Mindjet Deal Navigator objects have all of their basic access permissions enabled: Boundaries; Callouts and Relationships. If they do not, then edit these profiles to check select all of the unselected “Basic Access” permissions, and then select “Save” to commit these updates.
