Quest Fest Scavenger Hunt Benefits Sy’s Fund On Saturday and Sunday, April 10th and 11th, Sy’s Fund is hosting its first-ever App-based scavenger hunt, “Quest Fest 2021,” to raise money for young adults with cancer. Quest Fest 2021 can be played on either day and once players begin, they will have up to five hours to complete as many of the activities, challenges, and trivia questions as they can within the allotted time. With people taking precautions due to the pandemic, this activity can be played from anywhere, with a team to- gether in person or remotely, as the app allows for both. Registration is easy and donation-based; once signed up, participants will download the “Let’s Roam” app on their phones for free, and they will be emailed a code to get into the hunt before the event. The app keeps track of which items have been com- pleted and which still need to be done, which can be seen by all team members during the event. To register or donate, go to https://givebutter.com/ QuestFest2021SysFund. Be sure to check out the prizes offered for first and second place teams. For those who cannot participate but would like to donate to Sy’s Fund, this can be done through the event page as well. Sy’s Fund is a unique non-profit organization that supports young adults ages 18 through 39 who are living with cancer, by providing meaningful gifts that support their creative hobbies and endeavors. They also fund integrative therapies such as acupuncture and massage to complement conventional treatments. With community and national support, Sy’s Fund has provided recipients with gifts such as cameras, laptops, gardening supplies, writing workshops, musical in- struments, art supplies, sports equipment, and more. Sy’s Fund is a tribute fund in memory of Silas “Sy” Bennett, a Keene resident who passed on from cancer in 2008 at the age of 29. Lorraine Kerz, Sy’s mom and the founder of Sy’s Fund, says, “Our organization gives recipients tangible gifts that are imperative to helping them maintain their independence and quality of life, and often they share with us that the gifts we provide have given them something to smile about or has made them feel more like themselves before being diagnosed with cancer.” For more details about Sy’s Fund, go to sysfund.org.
