Achievements and responsibilities:
Implemented changes to cyclic maintenance operations, leading to improvements in productivity and the ability to accurately monitor contractor performance
Prepared detailed reports regarding contractual obligations of the principal contractor, settling disputes of workmanship.
Engaged in finding new repair techniques for highways for my current employer, to provide cost effective solutions to common problems faced by the authority relating to highway works.
Extensive knowledge across all aspects of associated maintenance of highways, from drainage schemes, re-surfacing schemes to reconstruction of footways and surface treatments.
Preparing reports and resolving disputes of works and payments with the term maintenance contractor.
Made decisions on the type of treatments necessary for a variety of schemes to place as bids for funding.
Schemes I have prepared and been involved in the implementation of include the resurfacing of Tarporley High street, a site with retail shops and outlets, in which I liaised with shop keepers, residents and Parish Councillors and planned the phasing of the work to ensure minimum impact on businesses while the work was carried out.
Station Bridge, Middlewich road, the installation of an improved traffic light system, I estimated the costs for the civils work including the resurfacing of this busy five way junction, and oversaw its implementation.
Most recently I have worked extensively in the delivery of the surface dressing program for Cheshire West, due to the success of the program in the 2013 season the Highways manager raised the budget for surface treatments in the 2014 season by 50% which the contractor completed in early summer 2014

Hobbies & Interests
Outside of work I have a keen interest in computers and technology, I have always built my own PC’s and enjoy solving problems with hardware and software. I’m quite computer literate and find I acclimatize quickly to new software, and I am equally adept with the mechanical side of PC’s too.
