Microsoft Windows is a family of proprietary operating systems designed by Microsoft Corporation and primarily targeted to Intel architecture based computers, with an estimated 88.9% total usage share on Web connected computers.

The control Panel is a part of Microsoft Windows graphical user interface which allows to view and manipulate basic system settings and controls such as adding and removing software, controlling user accounts, and changing accessibility options.

It provides a Graphical User Interface(GUI), vital memory management, multitasking, and support for many peripheral devices.

It is a bar which is located at the bottom of the screen.

It allows the user to locate and launch programs through the Start button, see any programs that is currently open, display the time or date, items running in the background through the Systray, and with subsequent versions of the Windows operating system, the Quick Launch.

DESKTOP BACKGROUND

It is also called desktop picture or wallpaper.

It is an image used as a background of a graphical user

interface on a computer screen or mobile communication device.

On a computer it is usually for the desktop, while for a mobile phone it is usually the background for the “home” or “idle” screen..

Wallpaper is the term used in Microsoft Windows before Windows Vista(where it is called the “Desktop Background”), while Mac OS X calls it a “desktop picture”(previously, the term desktop pattern was used to refer to a small pattern that was repeated to fill the screen.

It is the process of preparing a hard disk drive or flexible disk medium for data storage.

It is the process of preparing a hard disk or other storage medium for use, including setting up an empty file system. Some of the data might be recoverable with special tools.

The formatting process that performs basic medium preparations is often referred to as “low- level formatting”.

The term “high- level formatting” most often refers to the process of generating a new file system.

It is a common text- only (plain text) editor.

The resulting files – typically saved with the .txt extension- have no format tags or styles, making the program suitable for editing system files that are to be used in a DOS environment.

It supports both left-to-right and right-to-left based languages, and one can alternate between these viewing formats by using the right or left Ctrl+Shift keys to go to right-to-left format or left-to-right format, respectively.

It is a simple graphics painting program that has been included with all versions of Microsoft Windows.

It is often referred to as MS Paint or Microsoft Paint. The program opens and saves file as Windows

bitmap(24-bit, 256 color, and monochrome, all with the.bmp extension), JPEG, GIF(without animation or transparency, although the Windows 98 version, a Windows 95 upgrade, and the Windows NT4 version did support the latter), PNG(without alpha channel), and TIFF(without multiple page support).

It is the basic word processor that is included with almost all versions of Microsoft Windows from Windows 95 onwards.

It is more advanced than Notepad but simpler than Microsoft Works Word Processor and Microsoft Word.

It replaced Microsoft White.
